Respiratory Therapy for the Pre-hospital Care Provider; Nasal Cannula to Intubation

Objectives
1) Review the basics of prehospital respiratory care and therapy.
2) Review respiratory distress.
3) Examine basic to advanced respiratory therapy interventions.
4) Introduction to rapid sequence intubation.
5) Introduction to other advanced respiratory care techniques.
Training by,
Dr. Sagel is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Emergency Medical Services and currently serves as the Chief of Anesthesia for Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. He has a faculty appointment at the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology. He has over 40 years of experience in the fire service and in pre-hospital care. In 1981, he started his career in Baltimore County as a volunteer firefighter. Dr. Sagel later trained as an EMT and Cardiac Rescue Technician. In 2015, he became both a tactical EMT and a tactical physician. In continuing his dedication to the fire service, he completed Confined Space Technical Rescue and Vehicle Technical Rescue. He currently serves at the Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company.
Dr. Sagel is the Medical Director for the Baltimore County Volunteer Firemen's Association and the Assistant Medical Director for the Baltimore County Fire Department. Additionally, Dr. Sagel is the Medical Director for the United States Park Police Aviation Unit.
