Update: I recently saw Logan’s apology video on twitter and I must say that it is hands down much better than his written statement. Im not saying it excuses everything, but I encourage you watch it to see an appropriate response to all this ruckus. You don’t have to forgive him if you aren’t ready to. I’m sure many people are holding back from giving that luxury. Logan, I hope you do better in the future. Good luck. NOW... I still encourage you to go visit Aokigahara. It's beautiful and a trip to remember. It's sad to know the history behind it as it surprises me why anyone would want to end it in such an amazing forest. I highly encourage no one ever goes there to end their life, but instead to appreciate the forest, know its importance, and make it out safely. I wish this forest wasn't infamous for what has occurred in it, but I'd definitely go back. The government of Japan tries its best to advertise the forest's beauty rather than the events. Here's my vlog and trip if you're ever interested: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4SkipRsfduGh6M

Suicide is a serious issue, and I don't think you ever had to experience someone die in front of you and then you feel really hopeless because you couldn't help that person. I was put in that same spot when my brother died in front of me. And do you know how that feels? NO, you don't because you will never understand. I felt so depressed, mainly because I was one of the small amount of survivors in that mall. Children at the age of 5 and 4 were laying on the ground, DEAD, MANY families died in that accident. My husband is the kind of person who laughs when tragedy happens. For example, his infant nephew died from S.I.D.S. and at the funeral he stayed outside with the smokers cracking jokes. When it was time for him to go inside however, he was quiet and respectful and after they buried his nephew him and his sister both broke down, uncontrollably sobbing on the kitchen floor. My husband may not process grief well, but it doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out basic respect and dignity. Logan Paul is the Jerry Springer of KZbin. He's Classless, unnecessary, and cheap. He'll be remembered for this horrible act forever

Reckno64 thank you for your kindness. And I can understand laughing as a shock reaction, but like you said there's steps you can take to apologize, to make sure your expression of grief doesn't hurt someone.
@Reckno646 жыл бұрын
Briana1219 thanks. I remember once many years ago when I was a kid we were playing a game where you ran across the gym with a few people in the middle who would tag you. If you were tagged you would have to sit down and you could tag others while sitting. Once I was sitting after being tagged, kinda upset at the time and I reached out to tag someone running by, accidentally causing him to trip and fall. I think he was crying, but I ended up laughing a bit and people yelled at me. I felt horrible immediately after. I suppose that's an entirely different situation, but it's something that stuck with me all these years and I still kinda feel bad about it. I always try to apologize if I unintentionally hurt someone since I hate the feeling of being responsible for someone else's pain. Sorry for the long paragraph.

Yeah... I watched his video because i somehow enjoyed his content. When I watched that I was thinking “oh! Another totally okay video by Logan Paul! Let’s watch it!” Mind you, I’m only 11. When I watched this, I was scared and traumatized. And it actually lead back to people bullying me at school . That damned video made me have almost the darkest thoughts I’ve ever had. So let me get this off my chest. I wanted to die, but then I just clicked. “Why the eff.. what the how when where what why wtfffff why did I think that UGH DAMMIT” I REALIZED how pointless the thoughts were. I blocked Logan Paul and reported him. So Eff Logan. Every time someone watches that, they’re gambling with their feelings. Don’t think of suicide people. You have so much time, why waste it?

You're right that not uploading it would have also been a good choice. Although, "cutting out" the part with the dead body would not have been the correct choice, since being for the rest of the video all that he proceeded to do was make jokes and laugh about them. The whole video was just a mistake in itself.
@MsLilly2007 жыл бұрын
The fact that he never realized that it wasn't okay to post that video really says something about him. I can understand not turning the camera off, such a thing is probably very shocking and people can react strangely to shock, but then he took that camera back to the hotel room. Edited the video for a few hours(unless he has someone to do that for him in which case theyre also complete assholes), including taking the time to blurr out the face. You have to look at the footage over and over again when you edit something. Actually uploading a video takes a long time (depending on how long the video is and the resolution). Does he have some mental disorder that makes him not recognize people as actual living beings just like him? I just don't understand how he and those around him could think this was okay.
@frooogyy6 жыл бұрын
I didn't watch the video. I didn't want to. Just hearing this video, almost brok me into tears, just of the thought of that. I know I'm late. I know I won't be seen. But just hearing the words "someone hung themselves" is enough to make somebody as weak as me, ball into tears. I don't have any suicidal thoughts, but deep inside of my head, I say that Hanging Myself is my way to go, but I would never do it. I hate how ignorant he was, laughing about and just.. recording it. He was pale because he/she couldn't breathe. Use your common sense. As Aki said, turn off the camera and joke around yourself, or walk away and tell somebody. Again, yes. I'm late. It's useless to comment. But he made an apology video afterwords, took a break and acted like everything was fine. I sigh. I sighed. A very long sigh. Because I was a fan of him. That is just disappointing, how CHILDREN are his fans.

I totally understand this. Because it happened to me when my Grandmother passed away last year, I went to her house while she had JUST passed an hour before , and my grown up-already married with kids- cousins were just hanging out, laughing talking about KZbin VIDEOS. I was so angry that to THIS day, I have not forgot what they did, and I'll prob never will. I lived in my Grandparents House for 15 yrs, I saw them every single day, I was there for them when they were sick, and went through ALL that my cousins did not. They had absolute NO respect for her. Same as this moronic Guy named Logan Paul had no respect for the person who took their own life. My faith in humanity is officially gone forever.

I know that most of Logan Paul's fans are children and the rest have the mental capacity *of* children, but regardless, I feel the need to personally crush their flimsy defenses of the man-child further. I personally am someone that tends to use humor to cope with sadness at times. This is not that. For instance, at some point after a funeral I may bring to mind funny or happy memories of when the person were alive. I'm not quite adept at profound deep comfort, so that's my way to help remember how they lived, not how they died. Or if need be, I can just be a good listener instead, you've gotta gauge the environment, it's not too hard. Anyway I should get to the point. This was like if instead of bringing to memory happy times, if I just poked at the dead person and gawked in fascination like they're a double-rainbow! This was the equivalent of spitting on their grave. It doesn't matter if you covered over the name on the tombstone, this person turned the loss of a Human being's life into a *novelty!* He has been a growing blight on this platform but this, this is enough. And I honestly hope his channel and fame burn for this. That at least - if not more - is what this flagrant disrespect of Human beings and life itself deserves.

Stop recording, Cut the rope, feel for a pulse, call the authorities, and do whats right not just look at it and laugh and crack jokes. That’s because a good majority of the anime community, that aren’t native Japanese people, have the decency to learn more about Japan besides it’s pop culture scene. Think about it, these are fans who want to visit someday. And in order to visit, they have to study extra hard about the language, culture, mannerisms, everything!! Even I took Japanese to learn more about how to be polite and speak in a way that isn’t offensive to Japan. And I’m still learning after 3 years of taking Japanese language class in high school. A KZbinr I follow, Gaijin Goomba, has 17 years of teaching and learning Japanese under his belt. Those years of studying paid off since he was able to be close to his host family on a personal level, and is able to create content about Japanese culture with the help of the Japanese community he’s a part of.

I agree with Aki. Logan Paul is freaking sick, especially with the way he handled this. I don't think many people realized that he had to EDIT THIS VIDEO HIMSELF, and then had the audacity to actually post it. He edited it, said to himself, "oh, this will be good enough for KZbin's demographic. It'll especially be safe for people who are suicidal, no trigger warnings at all!" I've never liked Logan Paul, but he actually makes me sick to my stomach.
@yourboymark43977 жыл бұрын

@luvu11657 жыл бұрын
the dead gamer You need to get off of my comment and off of this video if you are going to defend that man. He didn't need to put that part in the video. He could have just cut it to immediately after they found the body, or not even talk about it at all. It's disrespectful not only to the man who killed himself because of how much pain he was going through, but TO EVERYONE WHO IS SUICIDAL. He is a 22 year old man. He knew exactly what he was doing, and I don't want to hear little kids defending him "because that's his way of handling things." Again, if that's his way of handling something traumatic, then he should've kept it out of the video. He didn't have to have the whole video centered around that one event.

That is my problem with some people and the school system is that they never are able to handle a situation correctly. That is truly what Logan Paul did was not being a logical person and take care of a serious topic correctly.

@celestel20687 жыл бұрын
Jasmine Browning the reason why people joke about killing themselves is, as said in this video, to cope with their depression. I can see why some people find joking about depression to be weird or uncomfortable. Personally I joke about my depression because it makes it easier for me to acknowledge how I feel. Using jokes to cope with a mental illness isn't the same as making fun of someone killing themselves, why? Because despite joking about suicide with one's self most people will always take the action in itself very seriously while those making fun of a dead body don't take the act of suicide seriously....

Aki is actually right, I've visited japan at 2019. I was with my friends. And we we're bored so we decided to go at "the suicide forest" We found a body as well. We have a stupid friend with us. He laughed at it and he said " nice prank. " He just keep laughing at the dead body we saw. Then one of my friends called the police. The arrived but my friend said someone was pranking us. The police man got hella mad. He handcuffed him and put him at the back of his vehicle After the incident. We all traumatized. And our friend that laughed at the dead body was grounded by his parents.

I hate people who joke about depression, or always say "it's just a phase" even though the person has a completely valid reason to say they're depressed (like they've been abused for multiple years, their family member died, they have a disorder that makes their life miserable) I suffered from suicidal thoughts through the ages 6-9, yeah it's a young age, doesn't mean I don't have a valid reason to be depressed. Sometimes that thought "just go outside, find a tall building, and jump off it" comes back every now and then, but it makes me angry and sad when people disrespect people going through things like this. "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me" when you're constantly telling yourself to DIE and CUT YOURSELF, yeah it does hurt, because if I died of suicide I wouldn't want people laughing at my body. If you support and like Logan Paul it's either because you know he's an idiot and are just there for drama, or you're too young/ don't have enough experience to understand how wrong this is. I know this is late, but it hurts my heart when people do this... If I hung myself, would you laugh at my dead body? Maybe, maybe not.. but it hurts man, it really hurts
