Great to see you fishing again! I am in N.Florida but BFS is my favorite way to fish! I think a hi end spinning reel has a little better drag then most BFS reels, and can also hold more line, this is likely the reason most pro tournament anglers, don't usually use BFS. That said it's just fun to catch a 6lb+ bass with 5lb line on a BFS set up! I also have Dobyns BFS rod (701c) It is a little faster action then the 700c because it doesn't have the carbon tip. I may get the 740c at some point, but it would be cool if 6th sense made one, I have to have cork though, I'm not a fan of any kind of foam, they all dry out with time, and cork doesn't, plus it's easy to clean an old cork handle up like new....FishOn.....jimi

Last month I just did fish just because it’s fucking hot here in fl . We got two (cooler )days and now I’ve just lost half a spunk shad and a fish that didn’t move on hook set .

Absolutely have 6th sense make a BFS rod! I have the same reel you got and for the time being I went with the bass x medium extra fast rod in 6’8 for my bfs setup. Just like you I think I’ll have issues on hookup so I wanted a whippy rod with some backbone.. like guads the smallies I fish are masters of throwing the hook so I want to make sure they get the juice. Thanks for the micro chatter though tip I was searching for a trailer for the ones I got and I’ll order some shindigs right now!

Dude, this summer has been brutal. Here in Ohio we’re in a bad drought. Fishing around my regular farm lakes has been abysmal. You aren’t the only content creator that’s had to pivot this year due to the extreme weather. Ignore the noise from the keyboard warrior experts.

I would definitely be willing to pick up a heater series BFS rod. Especially if you can make two different actions, one for reaction baits, then the other for things like a Texas rig or free rig!! Keep up the grind! It be like that sometimes! Gotta keep after it!
