I don’t mean any disrespect but those interpretations seem.. well, wrong. Duplieren is supposed to be a wind which when executed the opponent pushes your edge into his face by being strong on the bind.

I actually fully agree with this statement. That "duplieren" looks nothing like the other interpretations I have seen, which seem to make more sense from a fighting standpoint as well. This seemed like it was . . . more fearful, like it kept him back out of range of actually hitting his opponent, so instead he had to wind in to it.

Describing your own state does not make much sense from the perspective of fühlen. It is your opponent who is strong or weak with his blade and you are reacting to it. You are not weak, he is strong and you let him go with his force by your outside winden, or he is weak so you are not strong but breaking in with inside winden. Opponents blade is strong/weak and you actively using this for your own advantage.

Yes . . . but simply saying that I am strong or weak is a lot easier to explain and get across to people who don't know as much or anything at all about swordfighting, than to do it as you did, which would require a bit of fore-knowledge of the art in order to understand.

Maybe they should make a video on how to defend with ZORN. Zornhau, Ochs, Ringen, Nachreißen ;)
