All effects can be edited through the Appearance Panel! Just click on the effect name.

Hey! Think is great thank you! I happen to have a CD in which the text box is tilted by a slight degree. Unfortunately the colored rectangle doesn't tilt with the text. Is there a way I could fix that? Thanks

Hey! Thanks. I don't believe there is a way to tilt the box, just rotate it (with a Transform effect).

@@AndyTellsThings the solution I found was to color the textbox itself when selected with the direct selection tool (the white arrow) and add margins to the inside of the box plus centering the text within the textbox. Afterwards, I played with the placement of the baseline so it was really centered. It is as practical as your method, especially when it comes to scaling, but due to this 3 degree tilt, I guess I gotta adjust the baseline when scaling it. Thank you for your answer though!

this is nice, but it a pain to manage. the box outlines doesn't show in vertex modes and the outlines can only be outside the box and not inside. You can't neither snaps anchors. It only possible if you expand the appearance after but it destroy the editing capability

Hey. You can always mess with the distance of an outline (assuming you're talking about a stroke) by using the offset path effect. :)

Hi there! You can open the appearance panel and add an outline there (and also remove existing fills) :)

@@AndyTellsThings The problem is, how to fix this? So far the only way to do this is to convert text to outlines and expand appearance and align in. So... I am sticking with drawing a box, and aligning it. Works much faster. (or I am missing something)

@@code.design You can add a second FX called "Transform" and just nudge the box a few pixels up or down. I might remake this video some time, it was one of the first things I ever did on KZbin lol
