Respooling filament!

I was trying to respool PLA+ 3kg spools to 1kg. What I found was that the donor spool needed tension otherwise the receiving spool winding were too loose and resulted in binding when printing. PLA+ is probably also not the best type of filament to do this with as I ended up with wasted spools with breaks around the spool in random places.

Does the racking motion slow down as the spool diameter increases?

No it doesn’t it’s linked to rpm only. It won’t give that factory perfect wrap but it’s enough to keep the filament from lumping up anywhere.

Do you have the file and link to where to buy the motor? I want to make one but I'm very inexperienced 🥺
