【レッサーパンダ】ホクトの誕生日 Red Panda HOKUTO's Birthday

今日はホクトの5歳の誕生日。
産まれてから、昨年3月に遊亀公園附属動物園に移動する前までをチラリとまとめてみました。
ホクトは好奇心旺盛で、ストラップが揺れていたり･･･などすると、こちらに興味を持って寄ってきたり、じーっと見つめられたりしたものです。
あぁ〜懐かしい。
これからも元気いっぱい笑顔で甲府の人たちを楽しませてあげてほしいものです。

Wonderful birthday video of Hokuto, his happiest years at Maruyama. So grateful he was able to live a good life with his family and many visitors who loved him. Our little prince suddenly passed on at Kofu Yuki zoo to which he was transferred a little over 2 yrs ago. We so hoped that Hokuto could be returned to Maruyama to be with his favorite playmate, his momma Coco. Now he is with his sisters Kin and Gin in a heaven full of bamboo and apples. Thank you cattail sapporo for all of your Hokuto videos. They honor his memory. (We are hoping you could create a Hokuto memorial video or book, celebrating the Maruyama rp family. )

Thank you very much for your videos of the Maruyama red panda family. We have followed all of your wonderfully crafted videos of Coco, Seita, Layla and Lili, Eita, Gin, the late Kin, Hokuto, and Marumi over the years. They are part of our family thanks to your videos. They teach us to love and respect animals and good zoos and caregivers who love them. Gokurosama! Please keep making more as maybe new members might join the Maruyama famlly and hopefully even Hokuto can return to see his elderly momma, papa, and sister Gin and niece Marumi. Happy Birthday Hokuto! lots of health and happiness! Thank you for the nice memories of this cute smiling face. He loved to jog. I hope he is fine in Kofu City zoo. I didn`t see any videos of Hokuto since May 2018. I miss him and would like to see how he is doing now. I also wish Hokuto could return back to Maruyama zoo. He had a beautiful life there like Eita, Seita, Gin, Coco and Marumi still have.

Happy birthday dear Hokuto. We really miss seeing you at Kofu Yuki zoo because there are so few videos of your life there. Hoping you are healthy and still have a love of life you had at Maruyama. We want you to see your elderly momma Coco who you were so close to as a baby and a growing boy, her only son. Hoping to see you at Kofu zoo when I visit there this fall--maybe October or November. Anyone interested in Hokuto contact the Japan Association of Zoos and Aquariums (JAZA) in Taito ward, Tokyo regarding red panda welfare and placement in zoos.

So good to see another older video of happier days for Hokuto at Maruyama. I visited Hokuto in October 2019 at his current assigned small city zoo. It is not Maruyama by a long shot. Wish he could be returned for his mental, emotional, and physical well being. Since there are no current videos of Hokuto, I assume he is not a papa, yet. His female companion is rather elderly. So why not return to Maruyama where he can continue his elderly papa Seita's bloodline?? Please pray for Hokuto in 2021. I hope to visit him in a 2021 business trip, if foreign travel opens up. Happy Birthday! Why was Hokuto moved to another location? I keep hearing his current living conditions aren’t like this and inside a small area? Is this true? If it is, what can be done to get him back to his previous location?

Hi giga force, see my comments and referral to JAZA. I understand that it is the institution primarily responsible for looking after the welfare, including placement in a “specie appropriate “ enclosure, of red pandas in Japan. Hokuto is a red panda, an endangered specie whose overall numbers have been declining in its native habitat in the Himalayas and Western China.
