Restaurant Staff Mocks Black Soldier, But They Had No Idea Who Was Behind Her!

This is the story of Sergeant Bella and the restaurant staff, Lena. Bella was a soldier who was assigned to work somewhere in the city. After a particularly tasking day, Bella went to the restaurant to grab a quick bite to eat. However, Lena refused to sell to her. At first, Lena lied that the system was faulty, but when her lies were discovered, Lena told her that she couldn’t take the orders of a black person. Lena then went on to mock and ridicule Bella, even to the point of pouring her wine. However, neither of them knew who was behind them the whole time!

I have worked in the hospitality industry for most of my working life and never once have I been disrespectful to any patrons no matter what colour, race or gender they are. I expect respect and so this is exactly what I give to patrons. Everybody’s entitled to enjoy a meal and a drink without any animosity towards them. I made it my mission to at least make someone’s day every day I was working because that made it a great day for me also. A smile and a kind word to a person even a stranger may be the only interaction that they have had all day and can make all the difference to a lonely person. Remember also being kind is so much more rewarding than being rude and mean. I have plenty of stories I could tell most fantastic some not so much but that’s life. 😊 Have a great day everyone and keep smiling always. 😊

As a White guy who has three special needs children, my family has experienced poor service from restaurant staff. What they didn't know is that we always go to the same places and know the managers of said establishments. So, no tip and reported to their boss, guess who lost their jobs over this type of situation. It doesn't matter what situation the customer has, if they're respectful and just trying to have a meal, then give what you get. You as a server would know this since tips are a major part of your income. I'm happy to see that you aren't one of these people who decide it's okay to discriminate over things that people are born with.

When we came back to the states in the very late 50's we took a GI Soldier from Kenya down to Padre Island to go fishing. We went into a restaurant and we were told he would have to go back to eat. OUCH! The late 50's to sometime in the early 60's black people were not allowed on Padre Island. I was born in Texas and was instantly ashamed of that...

Skin color, race, speech, size, sex - should be absolutley NO excuse for being bullied, harassed, crapped on, not allowed to join a 4H club, or any girls sports teams - but for 5 years all of that, and more, was dumped on me because I was an outsider, didn't belong and FAT. I didn't have any friends at that school until another 'outsider' enrolled in that school. We became fast friends because we were 2 of a kind, she had long wavy hair, and like me, in that "clique", too fat, and she was Dutch. We lost touch in High School and I am seriously looking for her. Harassment, rudeness, verbal & physical abuse because of who we were or are, has no place in today's society anywhere at anytime. We are who we are because we were born this way. It's sickening to know people like this exist. I try to love everone like they are a sibling and i was good to my siblings growing up. But they still needed "Physical Corrective Measures" at times. This is why i like Doomslayer/DoomGuy. He loved people more than anything and he hurt his commanding officer for ordering him to fire on innocent civilians. Then had to fight demons in his new job as security for a research base on Mars, only to find out his efforts were in vain and they took over Earth anyway and KILLED nearly every living thing including his pet his wife and kids and nearly every other human being on the planet. He then chose to sacrifice himself to close the hell portal from inside and trap himself in there with the demons so he could deal them all the pain and suffering they did to others and him. That sounds like love to me. To be willing to sacrifice one's self for others is the purest type of love you can find in my opinion. And all the good men and women that serve us love us more than you would ever know. And it would be far better of us to actually show the true respect they deserve for all the sacrifices they have made for us. Jesus showed us how to love and we killed him for it. He could of fought back but he didn't. He willingly went to hell for us. So why do we treat or service members like this? They chose to face hell for you. Remember that before you decided to act an ass towards them.

The restaurant closed because of its racist ideology. The waitress felt that she had the support of the manager of restaurant and had no regard for a soldier who protected her, her family and friends while on a dangerous tour of Service to our Nation in Afghanistan. As the despicable treatment was recorded and subsequently went viral, there was no Apology given by the restaurant for such treatment by one of their waitresses. In my work, I have at times encountered racial discrimination. I was following up on a student who was experiencing psychological difficulties in one of our abroad programs in Paris, France. I had to arrange for treatment long-distance and communicate with her US parents. The woman who accompanied the young woman’s Dad refused to speak to me. I stood in the doorway to invite them into my office. Our secretary pointed to me, a brown-skinned Latina-American and said the Dean will see you now. The father looked aghast and stood in the small waiting space looking bewildered. The woman who accompanied him refused to look up or enter my office. The secretary recounted that I was the only one who could assist them since I had made all the arrangements to resolve the medical emergency. They finally acquiesced and came in. The woman man showed some hostility while I gave my report on what had been done to assist the young woman. The Dad seemed embarrassed. They left. I got a note a week later from the woman thanking me. I hadn’t expected her to contact me. Long discussion to say that racism exists, albeit at times in subtle ways. Thank you. I think the voice delivery could have been more inviting, although this story has merit.

I am an army vet who lived in a integrated neighborhood growing up in the north,in the 60s. We saw no color line at that time. It seems that stations like this emphasize race to separate us. In the army we work together, ate together and fought together. Whoever whoever wants to defeat us is following the principal “divide and conquer“ we should be united as one, and not emphasize our differences.
