I needed to get the rant off my chest. I visited the rogue restaurants in Alberta yesterday to get a meal. I met the owners. These are not raging criminals. These aren't monsters trying to hurt people.
They are just desperate small business owners who are at the end of their ropes.

Excellent video Cory, thank you, I grew up in central Alberta and went to school in Red deer, we lived on a farm and my parents always took us to eat in these small town Cafe's I am now 62 years old, I just need to say that this lockdown BS is destroying so many businesses also right here in downtown Calgary the lockdown and restaurant shutdowns must end now, best regards sir.

Canada has a nanny state culture. Our culture has shifted way too far into collectivism as opposed to individualism. It's tragic that nearly 20,000 Canadians died with COVID. But that's still only 0.0518% of the population. And out west (except for Manitoba) the proportion is even lower than that. It's Quebec that is driving the average upward mostly. We are expected to sacrifice the quality of our lives to save a very small minority of the population. Even in the countries hardest hit by COVID like Belgium, only 0.1806% died with COVID. And while collectivism may sound nice on the face of it. What collectivism really is is prioritizing the needs and wants of one group of individuals (in this case a small minority of elderly and immuno-compromised people that end up hospitalized or dead from this) over other individuals (young and healthy people. And the majority of elderly and immuno-compromised people who actually only have mild symptoms from this virus). There is no common good. This is about deciding which individuals have more rights than other individuals. It's not enough to these people to say that the elderly and immuno-compromised should consider voluntary self-isolation as much as possible. They force us to stay home just to improve the survivability odds of the people who may die or get really sick from this virus.

Although I play by the rules even I'm done with this lock down. Too many people I know are loosing their livelihoods and going bankrupt. I even know of one who committed suicide because he couldn't face his family.
