It almost makes me want to cry. I don't know which bothers me more, the fact that I could not be there, or the fact that all these cars and trucks were just left out in the weather with no apparent attempt to preserve them. Thanks for the videos.

car rust from just sitting weathered for years, The cars during the 60's 70s did not have a rust protecting paint like they do today. If you went purchase an ordered a car from the dealer with a under coat that was to protect the bottom floors and trunk it would have made it last longer. very nice video for some of us that could have not made it. I have a 1964 2 door coupe 425 cu motor Riviera that look brand new. I know it was a chevy dealer I have own the 64 Impala recent and other old cars.

Some things I just don't understand when I read the story about this guy is why he never wanted to sell a used car or last years model and why he just parked these cars in a field and never look back at them. But in the end when I was watching the auction online and seeing what these cars sold for he made a lot more money on most of them then he would have gotten if he had sold them new for full sticker. So maybe he was smart after all....

If your getting started in this hobby , I hope you have deep pockets because it is expensive, Tip, cars like this would need to have the radiators re cored, New batteries new paint new tires new carpet maybe, check brakes lines and flush gas tanks ect.. These car are awesome because you have all the original parts of the triming ect. Takes about 10k to 30k depending on what level you want your car to be.

What's the point in a trade-in if he didn't believe in selling second hand cars? The guy sounds nuts! Good that he kept the cars but these were worthless when parked up, unless he knew that hanging on to them they would be collectable one day.

I do agree that the storage method was unfortunate, but the auction grossed $4.7M -- who has more money than brains now? Lambrecht was a very successful dealer, and he knew what he could sell and what he couldn't in the days of yearly model changes.

It is bad enough that you see an old car rotting away in someones yard or vacant lot. Then when you see literally 100s of "brand new" Chevy vehicles rotting and rusting away by the elements??!! Unbelievable!!
@SorryWereOpen2477 жыл бұрын
So, What's the deal with this Lambrecht guy ??? Health got bad and NOW he wants to sell ? Property taxes ?? Inheritance sale ??......Personally, All of these '1-Mile' vehicles are worst off than a half-decent, hi-millage driven ! They all need TOTAL restorations. You could find the same vehicle somewhere else that needed less work with a load of miles and made it nice for far less what it would cost to fix one of these...Probably for what one of these went for at this auction and still have 'Change' left over ! Aside from the fact that a lot of the vehicles in this video was new and undriven, At the end of the day, This was nothing more than a 'RAT'S NEST' junk yard sale !!!! The 'Low-To-No-Millage' and whatever other 'Labels' were accredited with these automobiles doesn't override the amount of neglect and disregard. The Cubans must be experiencing hi-blood pressure over this one !!!!
@jamesh13695 жыл бұрын
My thoughts exactly. Makes no sense to take on one of these rust buckets when you can buy a good original or restored late 50's or early 60's car for less than what it would cost to restore one of these heaps, unless you have money to burn then it doesn't really matter. Rich people can afford to be fools I guess.
