We continue our trip through Andersen's 'Self Service Wrecking Yard in Kearney, NE. Sadly, none of these cars can be bought outright. They simply won't sell anything they don't have a good title. As you will see, many of these cars have helped people get their own cars back on the road. I am one of those people.

One suggestion, try photographing the vehicle and not so much the ground. So many nice vehicles and the most i seen of the car is the top of the hood and nothing else. I love video's like this but I want to see the whole car.

There's nothing so relaxing as walking through a real, authentic wrecking yard full of old cars from the 50s-60s. It was during those years that cars had such a great mix of workable engineering and character. Steel everywhere, and rotted fabric, insulation, and rubber.

NICE GREETINGS FROM BAVARIA (germany) :) Oh why, there are so many Cars that should be rescued... I know most people only have eyes for 2 Doors or the tiny Muscles/Ponys...but even Not me, who loves these mid-fullsize Cars, especially as 4 Doors, especially the 4 Door Hardtops. I'm restoring a '67 Caprice/Impala 4 Door Hardtop & i had to rebuilt the whole wheel arches of the front fenders, the whole lower windshield frame and many more spots at the rear window frame + some sections of the Trinklid weatherstrip Channel, all with self-Handmade new sheet metal. A LOT of difficult but nice work. I'm 35 and even when you're living there where nothing old Cars or Junk yards are left, you can't understand why these Cars are in these Yards and Not in work for restoration by fathers with sons, Car Guys..... because the most of them looks so solid, Not much work about sheet metal, Not really difficult Projects. Especially the 72 Ford LTD 4 Door looking so cool, and i'm sure this Car was very complete when it arrived, too. There is my big question, why these fantastic Cars are there for parting out, sooo sad, because the Car is lost forever... especially when it goes crushed when the most parts of it are gone. So No, that's unbeleavable for me, because i know how Bad it is when nothing is left. That what i see yet at USA with these Classics on Yards and places like this, is that what next Generations of Car Guys would Not forgive the people who give it to Part out or/& crush. Because i know with my 35 years, that the older Generations had done this before i could buy any Car. And now people like me has to buy Classic Cars in other counties like USA... Especially the 65-77 mid-fullsize/luxury US classic cars meets exactly my taste. And when i see Cars in this conditions to Part out i think i'm crazy with my real restoration Project. But hey, i'll safe, Not Trash. I'll restore, and then have fun with a Classic Car in an affordable price range, too. That's for people like me who aren't Born with 2 left hands to can do that. But before i began with this Project i had nothing knowledge about shaping sheet metal and do this sheet metal work. I learned it, because to get a better Front Fender was No real option because i had to get it at USA with No knowledge about this fender If it would be better than the fenders i have. So i started with the sheet metal work and learned that the Most Cars could be safed :) I wish i could buy anyone of these beautyful Cars in this AMAZING Yard. However how sad it is to der the Cars parting out there, it's a Lot better than crushing it. But so you know if this Yard sells whole Cars too? Even something like i sayed; ~ 1965-75 mid- fullsize, at best 4 Doors, Most fantastic 4 Door Hardtops :) THANK YOU VERY MUCH for this Video of this AMAZING place! :) Cheers Till

When cars make it to this particular yard, they won't sell them as complete cars. The same family owns a full service yard that has sold complete cars. Our state's vehicle title laws also determine if some cars can or cannot be sold. Thanks for watching!

..on those 4-cylinder International Scouts..the earlier ones were indeed half of a 304 V8...a 152...the later ones were half of a 392 V8...a 196...I had a 1970 Scout with the 196 4 cylinder...torquey as h@ll..I really liked it...you felt as if you were driving an inline 6 instead of a 4 cylinder...decent gas mileage, too..especially considering how low it was geared...

People should bring classic car salvage back to OHIO and not let greedy money hungry scrapper's DESTROY any more of them. I think the US AUTO INDUSTRY SHOULD START PRODUCING MORE STEEL REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR US CLASSIC CAR'S AND TRUCK'S AND STOP GIVING OUR WEALT AND SELF RESPECT AWAY TO ALL FOREIGN AUTOMOTIVE ENTITIES. WE THE US CITIZEN DESERVE BETTER ESPECIALLY IN OHIO.
