How to Wire Your LTG Swap the Easy Way

If you are doing a stand alone engine swap, you don't have to start from scratch with the wiring! You can use a new engine harness and an aftermarket fuse block to power the engine, as long as you have a solid connection to the battery and a switched 12v source. It's a simple and affordable way to DIY an engine harness.

Thanks! The TR3160 came used from a 2018 Camaro with low miles. It was a pretty simple install, with the key component being a 3-Bolt Adapter Flange Yoke Kit from Sonnax that made driveshaft fabrication easier!

When you disable something in the wiring harness, do you remove the wire? Cut the tip off? Or leave it in place and just disable it in the software? Thanks for the great info on doing this swap! I’m considering doing this in a 1977 Toyota FJ40 LandCruiser! Do you know what transmissions are compatible with this engine? So far I’ve seen an adapter for a 4l60e but that’s it.

Cool idea for a swap! As far as transmissions go - I'm not 100% sure, especially when sourcing an adapter from advanced or similar for the toyota t-case. As far as wiring goes - when we find a wire that isn't needed, we like to de-pin it from the harness to completely remove the wire.
