These cars don't seem old, they look like items that have been burried, roughed around a bit bu yourself and then rescued. The thing is, the end product on all of your videos is absolutley top notch, the best up grading I have ever seen. You are an artist without doubt. So why the pretence? why not start from "I bought this car from the dollor store, lets turn it into a materpiece and sell it at an auction to a collector and a lot of money?" its just a thought. Great video regardless.

agree completely. The finished product is always very nice and a great improvement, but it's just so bogus that every car you "rescue" initially has the same overdone patina of decay. Admittedly, that's a talent as well and in some cases I actually prefer the decayed models to the cleaned up version.

This brought memories for me. My Dad worked for Volkswagen for 20 years from the time they began selling them in the United States. Every year when a new model came out there was a corresponding die cast model as well. For many years Dad bought the model and collected them. Finally he felt the models were too expensive at $12. Now I wish I had every one of them.

Ok I am not buying the "found in this condition" It's obviously intentionally weathered to look old and abandon. That was more of a customization than restoration. The end result was ok, you forgot to put the stripe on the doors, there was some paint lifting from the tape job, and you did no detailing of the interior. The end result is passable but by no means excellent. I give it a c+ at best. I have been restoring old built up model kits for a very long time and I would never give that to a client and expect them to be happy.
