How does the wood move as it naturally swells and shrinks with all those screws in the top?
@CreativeIdeasMakerАй бұрын
Why does wood expand? Wood naturally tries to equalize its moisture level with its surrounding environment, and these movements on the piece of wood are due to the movement of the moisture level in the grooves of the wood. Ways to deal with the expansion and contraction of wood: When you plan to make the cabinet frame, the grooves on all four sides of the cabinet must be in the same direction. For this reason, all four sides of the cabinet must be the same size (especially if all four parts of the cabinet are made of one piece of wood). Of course, this issue can cause problems when you want to install drawers on the cabinet, for example, the drawers do not open and close properly. That's why many cabinet frames are made using plywood. One of the good features of this wood is that it is not affected by moisture. When you plan to glue the wooden board together to make the surface on the table, not only the grooves of each wood should be in the same line so that the color of the surfaces is the same, but the end of each groove should be a different picture. In other words, if one page is placed in such a way that its end is on the right side, the next page should be placed opposite to this state and continue in the same way. This makes the humidity level of each surface not different from the other. When these surfaces are to be implemented on a table, the end of the grooves of each wood should be placed on a surface of the table that has less space. To connect this surface, the front part of the table is screwed so that it can be moved easily, but in the back part, the screw must be added so that the plates can be widened and narrowed. If these parts are not implemented well, there is a possibility of wood shrinkage and expansion, which can cause cracks on the surface of the table. We hope that the above methods are useful and help you in doing carpentry work. If you have any tips or experience in this field, share it with us.

What is the wood please? So yellow and almost featureless
@CreativeIdeasMaker2 ай бұрын
A good question. This poplar wood (scientific name: Populus alba) (or, more precisely, Eurasian poplar), is a tree from the Malpighiales order, the willow family (Salicaceae).
