antique carroll & jamieson lathe from the US, we found and bought from a mechanical workshop in vietnam. this carroll & jamieson lathe is American made in 1925 up to now this lathe is almost 100 years old. the machine has completely rusted and many things are not complete but we still bought this lathe to restore.I hope you find something useful from this video!

A nice job! There are a few things I would have done a little differently, like not painting the chuck. And We know at least one thing you would have done differently given a second chance. :-) But overall, a better job than a lot of people could have done. BTW, this lathe is definitely from the 1960s, not 1925. The design may be largely unchanged from 1925, but there are some obvious differences, like the label tags with red color, the design of the contactors to start the motor, the use of V belts, and even the color that the machine was originally painted. All of these say it was not built in the 1920s. At a guess, it probably came over with the Americans in the 1960s and stayed when they left.

The gearbox looks in good condition! You should have tried to replace the spindle bearings. Don’t use the impact driver! Insert pipe cleaners into any oil points inside the gearbox to help prevent metal flakes entered the gearbox. Don’t paint the chuck, try and wire brush it back to bright metal. Good luck!

Brass liners, on the secondary shaft, put upside down! At the bottom, inside the necks of the shaft, there are pins that must go into the mating holes of the brass inserts! I'm sorry for my English, I don't know it at all!

Eu também achei que trabalha muito bem. Mas acho que o torque da máquina dele de parafusar estava muito alto, ela apertou tanto que quebrou a peça. Veja o minuto 18:10
