I work at west elm as a designer. If you ever look to replace that couch, we have a performance fabric called "washed cotton canvas" in white.... its so soft and has that look that you're going for! Just a thought :)

For the herringbone dresser, if you really like the dresser, you could budget about $240 more and replace the slides with heavier-duty slides. This is actually something I do with almost any piece I buy, whether it's Room and Board, or Living Spaces. I jokingly say I "hot rod" all of my drawers. Sometimes this includes adding a thicker bottom. In regards to the sofa, you mentioned you didn't like the cushion firmness. Do you have the standard fiber-fill cushions, or the upgraded down & feather wrapped/foam core cushions? Also, maybe things have changed, but you said that you felt that the showroom had the "nicer" Belgian linen but the in-stock one was the "lower cost" performance option. All of the "Performance" grade fabrics cost *more* than the Belgian linen option, which is the 2nd cheapest, second only to the Belgian linen/cotton blend. It's also worth noting that they have 4 different "performance" fabrics, all with different weaves. They are all solution-dyed acrylic, but the hand is quite different from one to another.

Omgosh the Toledo desk chair caught my eye because I’m born and raised in Toledo, Ohio and you never hear about this place! So I googled it and YES the “Toledo Draughtsman’s Stool” originated from my area, right on the Maumee river which I kayak on all the time! The Toledo Metal Furniture Company founded in 1898 sure knew how to design a chair! So proud of my home town for good design skills for once! ❤️😂🔥 Thanks for inspiring me and helping me learn about my hometown!

My opinion on the sofa!!! I’m sad you don’t love it because it’s been amazing for us. We have the exact same one with the performance fabric. I have an infant and a toddler and while it isn’t the softest thing in the world, the fabric is like magic. I’m telling you, yogurt, spit up, condiments, random sticky substances get on it and it literally wipes right off with a wet rag and dries like it was never there! I’m obsessed! Ours is a little deeper I think and suuuper comfy. HOWEVER, we could not realistically afford anything from RH so we actually bought our sofa from fb market super discounted. The lady we bought it from had it in her formal living room for 4 years. So while it wasn’t sat on regularly it still looked great for being that old. That also might contribute to how comfortable it is. Overall, I absolutely LOVE mine. I think if it’s going to be an everyday seater it’s worth getting the bigger, deeper version.

You can buy teak (oil) from amazon. It is used for teak boats, we used it and it was THE BEST, our outdoor table looks brand new.( Even better).If you can't find it on amazon I will look up the name for you. If you are intertested.
