They really should be on every road going Vincent , frankly. Great addition.

Watching this video made me decide to fit one of these stands on my 52 Rapide. Thanks...

Thanks a lot Peter. They are excellent. Sadly, Dave has passed away, but I believe Conways is now selling the same stand. Best wishes, Mike

@@TheMightyGarage I thought this must be the same stand which I have seen advertised on the rear cover of MPH, the Vin owners club magazine. I used to ride my bike over to Patrick Godet for it’s annual service, and had been planning to have him fit one. Obviously that’s not going to happen now but thanks to your videos on this and oil change etc I feel emboldened to do it myself. Just wondering if you have any plans to fit a Grosset starter? Patrick had put one on my bike and I have a friend who needs to work on his, as it has sheared a pin, so doesn’t engage.

@@peterg2yt Hi peter, yes, my understanding is that the unit in the MPH is Dave's design that the new company has kindly continued. It's one of the best mods on my bikes as I also have one on the Comet. I was very sorry to hear about your friend Patrick. It was a great loss to our community. Yes, I can definitely see myself getting a Grosset starter in the future! I have the BTH Mag now and it has transformed the starting but my 2 friends both have one on their bikes and they are great. One of my friends also sheared the pin as he rides it everywhere, but it's so go to hear and see them burst into life at the push of a button ;) Best wishes

That's a job well done. The Vincent has certainly won your heart. Understandably.

It looks like the feet don’t lie flat with the floor when the stand is down which allows it to rock forward. That is a very nice stand.

Yes, exactly Scott. Cheers, Mike

Definitely required that removal of material from the stop Mike, it will be a great addition once painted and finally installed. atvb t ..

dont forget some vins have 19" front rims and some 20" this would affect how much the stand leans ,modern low profile tyres may also affect things

Thanks a lot Dean. I'm going to leave it for now and not make any more alterations until the bike is on the road again. Dave Hills was so great to work with and had me provide some initial measurements, just to make sure that he would send the correct stand. Cheers, Mike

looks as if the feet being radiused a little more at fabrication stage would be an improvement.

Hi any chace that you can letting me have the sizes of that stand as i would like to make one ... thanks William
@TheMightyGarage Жыл бұрын
Hi William, the stands were pretty-much made to measure by Dave Hills. Sadly, Dave has passed away, but I believe that they are still being made by Conway spares in the UK. There's also been some discussion on the VOC forum about sizing, so you might be able to check and see what general sizes are on the forum.

Reckon the added weight; like a well leaded sailboat keel... can't but help in stability around turns. -DU69160 31019

Had to laugh when you said you'd take the opportunity to give the bike a good clean. I've just given my AJS a 40 mile run around the lanes of Lancashire and it has come back caked in mud, cows**t and salt. Mind you it wasn't as clean as your Rapide before I set off.

Hehe, thanks for sharing. Oh man, one of my first bikes was a 1954 AJS 16MS 350cc. I loved that bike. Best wishes, Mike
