I was an aircraft mechanic for almost 30 years, have worked on Ferrari’s , Mercedes, Jaguars, Marine engines, antique steam locomotives, and even a Land speed jet car, so I can appreciate the attention to detail. Very reassuring to see my watch being handled so well from beginning to end Richard - first time any of my watch servicing has been videoed like this. Your regular calls on progress with the job were also reassuring and very much appreciated too. I'm glad now that I didn't try my Mole Grips and WD40 approach on this one, I'm sure I would have managed but perhaps without your finesse! Looking forward to receiving the watch. Thanks again for the fine job Richard, Keith

Grail Watch for many. I was underwhelmed by the plainness of the movement, when you look at some of the other watches out there. With far more decorative movements. This looks like it’s out of a Seiko 5 from the 70’s 😱 Great Work on the service and regulation.

And also studied a lot of horology theory. It took me about 3 years to get my error rate low enough to work on other peoples watches and 5 years before I tackled my first Rolex. Why would you change the mainspring? Just good practice or was it in your professional opinion past it’s best? (Genuine question) Really like the idea of using the tweezers as a steady on some of the trickier screws and might try this for myself although I don’t use those bent tweezers.

Again Wow! There's a good reason why I try to tinker with Восток Амфибия and not Rolex. As usual I have learned a lot watching your videos. Are those "tea infusers" that you put the parts in? The little trick of holding the screwdriver with the tweezers is believe it or not a big help. I was repairing or really just reinstalling a minute hand that had come loose on a 2416 B movement while watching and that little trick helped me reinstall the movement holder. I normally struggle a little bit. I thank you for all that you do, I will share this with my friends and family. Show them what a highly skilled Watchmaker really looks like. It's all over the place on the Timegrapher +755 s/d and the beat error is 9.0. I fooled with it a little not much of a change the balance is running slow, but I put it in the autowinder and it's keeping good time with the 9 other Восток's. I'm not good enough to take it apart but a new movement is only $30 US. Maybe it'll be fine. Iots of fun but only a hobby, I'm a carpenter by trade.

That was very interesting and nicely filmed -- but I have questions: How do you install the arbour on the barrell and feed in the mainspring (and how much oil does the mainspring have)? How do you adjust the microstellar screws on the escape wheel for accuracy and how much messing about is required to adjust them in 5 positions? How do you set the pinion weights for the escape wheel pinion and how do you set the bridge heights? I saw that you released the mainspring tension, but exactly *how* do you do that? It was very interesting to watch the service. I am assuming you also replaced the gaskets -- did you also replace the crown and tube? Thanks for all of the information and excellent strip-down and re-build -- I appreciate the video (can you do a longer one on the same movement)? Finally, can I get your watchmaker thoughts on the difference between the 3075 and the 1575 (gmt) in terms of robustness and durability, please?
