Well done and thanks for sharing! My Mother used the same model 4A for ironing bedsheets at a remote tourist camp in the 40s in northern Ontario. Now I know how to restore the 4A I have:)

Nice work, Bill! Thank goodness for permanent press fabrics......haha! I'd love to see some closeup flame shots under the hood. If it weren't for rural electrification, I bet W.C. Coleman would have made a gasoline powered refrigerator. They make them that run on natural gas, so it's possible anyway.

You can interchange the R55 generator with an iron generator. I did it in my iron and noticed no performance difference. Two pumps of air is a good place to start.
