Thank you. Thats kind of you. Theres definitely is a lot of planning and work involved, so i appreciate the recognition. I use hammerite paint on the underside. There are probably better alternatives out there, but this has worked for me so far.

I went with a 2005 e46 330xi, I needed an AWD car for the winter when it snows, I love it. I also own a 2020 rwd m340i but it isn't the best on those snowie icy days.

I have a 2003 E39 530i Msport which definitely needs the same treatment although I think I might now just paint the break callipers which is probably the limit of mine mechanical skills but your still a great inspiration and that underside paint colour is cool . In watching this great video I kept telling myself you must be the person who designed this car since you were able to disassemble and reassemble each and every part of it !! I own a 2006 330 ci ZHP with a brand new German engine that replaced the old one and I gave done lots of maintenance but would be interested to know what does the work you did cost ?

Ive put 3000km on it, beating on it regularly. I still holds. But most people say they dont last long. Personally, if i were to do it again, id do it “proper” and get a quaife/blackline torsen instead

Hammerite. But i dont know the color code as i got the wrong one. Too yellow. Then mixed it with black for a more olive green like color

I wanna do this level of restoration to my 330ci however step 1 is to have a ramp and the tools 😢 as someone who is self taught and in a family that doesnt already have tools, having to buy the tools along the way is a bummer. Hoping to do my manual swap this summer and aspire to complete my build to this standard :)

Tools and equipment are the biggest costs. And time. The car is cheap in comparison:) i hope you one day will find all of the above. In the meantime, park it in a garage or a carport, amd keep up om the oilchanges. Thank you for the nice words

What's your take on powdercoating the suspension parts instead of hammerite? Or maybe both would be good (powder + hammerite) ?

Powdercoat will always beat regular hammerite or any other paint. I hope i havent made an impresseion it wont. For me its a matter of getting stuff dione at my own pace without involving anyone else in it. Being i mainly drive n good weather hammerite will get me s long way but powdercoat would get me a mot further honestly, im a broke boy lol. Evwry dollar saved i can use on other mods that matter more

Some parts are still missing. But hats off to you, your videos make me want to progress with my journey :)

@samisvideo if i were to do it over and not worry about cost or time id “just” powdercoat the front and rear subrframe. Everthing else paint is fine. Tbh paint is fine if you only tale the car out on good days too.

@@OEMplusRESTO Yea and also the mike sanders fat itself :) Its used for places like the rear fenders to let the fat creep into the deep spots and prevent water from getting there :D Every summer it becomes loose again and creeps further so its a do once forever thing

Cleaning and painting old parts like wishbones and so on is just nonsense and waste of time and energy. From my own experience: if something like the engine mount piece is rusty, you wont overcome the rust with paiting....just put on grease/wax and it will stay brown and ugly but it wont rust further or very slow
