I found this brass hammer in the scrapyard and decided to renew it and modify it, especially since this hammer will be useful to me soon. Have a nice time watching how i restore this old damaged hammer.

Why would you get rid of the nice patina and the original makers mark? Nice polishing job, but won't stay like that for long if you use it.

I need this hammer for some wood parts so im pretty sure that this hammer stay like that, this hammer was in terrible condition was very battered so i decide to use lathe and unfortunately makers mark did not survive. Thank you for commet it's really important to me. Have nice day 🤗

Beautiful result. As for my personal opinion ( that doesn't count as we al know🙃), I think the Handel is a bit large for the hamer (of course it depends on the amount of force you need) and I'm missing the factory stamp/lettering after restoration.

I love brass. And you did a good job, not going to take that away from you. I have an old brass Plomb. But I don't think I can take the lettering. You can get a piece of brass anywhere and make it look like you did. I would have liked better if you had taken out the mushrooming and perhaps even filed it some, but keep the lettering to show the old age, where it came from. basically some history of that hammer. Smaller handle would have looked better also. Thats just my take. You learn as you go buddy.

I use one to loosen/move parts when they must not be damaged or dented. I have a bigger copper hammer that was made to specifically remove the spinner wheel hub on MG cars. The cars used to come with them, so these "Thor" hammers are somewhat common.

Your Hammer, your rules But in my opinion your Botched that hammer when it went on the lathe. in stead of "restoration of an old and damaged brass hammer. How i restore" it should have read i used a brass hammer head as a starting point for making a new brass hammer.
