I have been using my PD8 for many years, and I just plugged in a new to me PD887 yesterday. Both function flawlessly, and this video should help me keep them going for years to come. Thanks you. EDIT: I put the PDB back in service because it has the optical out that enables me to connect a Toslink cable to a DAC from Schiit, the sound quality is amazing.

I just bought a Technics SL-PD8. I got lucky because it was in good condition. I still opened it up and cleaned it up a bit and cleaned the lens. All the gears looked like they were still well lubricated. I wanted this model because it has the optical out port. It plays and sounds amazing to be 24 years old.

i love this player, but today the drawer stuck opened, doesnt close(getting error -E). I opened it to make sure it isnt one of the two broken rubber that make the mecanism move, but it isnt. there is a way to test if the mecanism that open the drawer is really working? i think the engine is dead, not spin when i turn on . (the engine that makes the disk change its working, depending on the drawer position manually...) thanks!

I usually use (95%) SYNTHETIC THINNER when cleaning circuit boards.

I have a Technics SL-PD667 5 disc changer. Mine only plays the disc in position 5. The tray does rotate. And it rotates to any of the five discs that I select. But once I push the play button, it rotates back to the CD in position 5. It sounds great, though. Any ideas? Thanks a million

It is not necessary to do any type of lubrication? I have the SL-PD687 model, it is very similar, but with skipping problems. I saw that the laser module with the endless screw you removed it intact without disassembling it. I suspect the worm gear lubricant is dry or the motor bearing has problems. I have not been able to disassemble it without risk of damaging it. Any suggestion? Thanks for the video.

Hello there. Firstly, thank you. Your problem seems to be a lack of oil at first glance. Clean in the lens. Those parts are very sensitive. You can harm. My advice to you is to have your device repaired by a professional. I hope I was able to help you. Greetings

Adem bey bende de aynı cihazdan var.98 de almıştım.İlk sahibiyim.fakat cd bir okuyor bir okumuyor.okusa bile sarsıntılardan çabuk etkileniyor.cok kullanılmış değil aslında.lens temizleyici cd ile temizledim.bir miktar iyilessede kısa sürede eski halini alıyor.Lensin tozlandigini düşündüm.bir gün açmak istedim ama tornavida açmadı..vidalar çok sıkı.hic acilmadigindan gece üzerinde yıllardır cihazlar durduğundan kasmis olabilir kasa..zarar vermemek için uğraşmadım.elinizdeki spreyi temizleme cd sinin minik fircalarına sikarak uygularsak sonuç alabilir miyim..yada yeriniz nerede acaba..bu cihazların sesi günümüzdekilerden iyi bence

Cd lerin ortak sıkıntısı. Lensde ömrünü tamamlamış olabilir. Nede olsa yılların cihazları. Başka bir sıkıntıda olabilir. Hobi tadında uğraşıyorum. Profesyonel değilim. Ben İstanbul da yaşıyorum.

@@ufukgokhanerdol5957 rica ederim. Elektronik cihazların sinsi iki düşmanı sürekli vardır. Toz ve cihazı kullanmamak. Lens için bir ihtimal dedim. Başka arızada olabilir. Cd tamiri herzaman sıkıntılıdır. 30 senelik cihazlar olduğu için entegreleri ve optikleri temin etmek neredeyse imkansızlaşmaya başladı. Dilerseniz bakabilirim. Elimden geldiği kadar. Özelden veya mail olarak görüşebiliriz. Selamlarımla.
