What is the solution you use to clean the greased parts?

Great restoration, but I wanted one more thing. Full polishing of the Jacob's Chuck. That's what sells it. Some people just replace it. Other clean it a little. I would make that thing shine like chrome. Keep going!

Super nice job. But please replace the bearings that are rusted. To be able to put the rubber on the handle, put it in hot water to soften it up, and some soapy water on the handle. It will go a lot faster and easier

I wonder how old it is to be called antique, just that it my understanding it has t obe about 50 years old. I can be wrong so if anyone knows how the classification works let me know...I still think he is doing a great job as I watch the video...getting that chuck off took some work....the drill could be 50 years old given how it is not playing ball and making things tough for our intrepid restorer...we call the body putty which is used in car repairs bog in NZ don't know why though...cool result.

Judging how the rubber grip had perished I would suggest at least 50 years old. As to classification, for machinery and tools I would suggest ‘Vintage’ if over 50, ‘Antique’ if over 100.

I have found that this confusion over old, vintage and antique is common across different countries and I think it stems from from a lack of knowledge about the when these terms apply. I had to ask as I had forgotten myself andVintage is 50 years and Antique has to be over 100 years. Old can be up 50 years. In many ways the internet has cuased a lot of problems in showing real information againt disinformation or fake information. Not all nformation is equal.

@@Lesnz2009 And to my mind 'Old' should apply to something that isn't made any more, which could be 40 years in the case of an electric heater down to 5 years in the case of a Game Boy or other electronic items... and excluding things that are still being made but are constantly being updated (like laptops). At the same time, I'm not going to give a thumbs down just because someone whose first language often isn't English makes a mistake [although I can live without the 'Oooh, look, I just found this by the river or in an abandoned dairy farm' intros'!]
