Hello from France I will follow your restoration, because I love this model and I also hope to have one very soon. Just think of putting on an anti-noise helmet and a dust mask, courage and good luck.

If you had your body on a rotisserie, dry ice works great to get the undercoating nice and brittle for the scraper to work. The reason why I say if you had a rotisserie is that gravity stuff makes it hard to hold dry ice on the vertical panels.

Man! You definitely tested a lot of tools! I used one single wire wheel to strip all my wheel wells and my entire underside of my Datsun and it worked great. Don’t be afraid of that thing. Also, your air chisel will work great for the interior sound deadening, that stuff sucks! Remember to get some dry ice when you remove that stuff

Hey buddy just discovered your channel this morning and it was awesome to see a young person so conscious about PPE great job however the power tools you're using are more than 80 decibels of sound you should use hearing protection single stage hearing protection 60 to 100 decimals single stage protection 100 decibels are higher double hearing protection single hearing protection being ear plugs double hearing protection ear plugs and muffs would love to answer any questions you might would have I enjoy seeing new channels good luck and I will be watching and I have subscribed God bless brother oh yeah I almost forgot brother excellent idea on the welded post coming down two wheels as a replacement for the Dolly but as much as that car shakes maybe you should look into adding eye bolt on crossmember by the wheels

I see your finding many of the same results I did with the mechanical methods of removing the undercoating. Most cause damage to the sheet metal in some way or another, where others are just too inefficient. I ended up chemically stripping with the Eastwood Down to Metal Stripper. Two coats took the undercoating and primer off. Then I used the Eastwood Pre-Paint product which did a nice final clean of the residual undercoating left. Fender wells are pretty easy going compared to what it will be like doing the under belly of the car. You need to roll her up on her side !! At a minimum cross brace your caster legs - something bad will happen with the amount of side to side movement you have there!

Those Irwin Unibits are great...but strangely, the Harbor Freight ones aren't bad. I use them all the time, and I work on cars for a living. Also, my plan for an S30 was Blue with Panasport style wheels, so I approve of your choices. lol

I know it's WAY too late, but you could also use a torch or heat gun and a scraper to remove the under coating and then chemically strip the paint.

You need to triangulate your setup for supporting the car. Front and back. That thing could easily fall over. It's almost scary. However, nice vids, and nice reviews. I enjoy your stuff

I was going to make the same comment. You have got to reinforce this stand with 45 deg supports. This setup you have is going to collapse with any lateral force.

I havent started the underbody yet and im dreading it because its a pain. Keep up the great work.

You can use baking soda as a blasting media. It’s pretty cheap and is better for you and the environment

If you're stripping the paint yourself I would HIGHLY recommend checking out the Eastwood contour surface conditioning tool. While it may be a bit expensive it will save you a ton of time on your project. If you want demos I would check out the Eastwood youtube channel, they have a ton of helpful videos demonstrating the different barrels and how to use it.

Is it just me or I get scared almost every time I watch one of your new video. You definitely need to brace these dolly this looks dangerous the way it is right now. Maybe you should consider buying or building a rotisserie. Anyway keep up the great work. Love your videos.

Have you been considering using the liquid sandblasting kit by any chance? The one you screw on top of a .pressure washer? Really curious how those turn out

@@RestorationForBeginners Don't Sanding to Body Paint The panels are uneven.we are not a robot, it's not able to get the paint off elaborately we will be done later with putty to the face Putty is not a good way My personal opinion recommends a paint remover

Hey, if you just fill the gap on that garage you wouldn't have to make several dolly. Lay a ziplock bag on the gap filled with epoxy steel! Problem solved!. Then you can easily remove it becuase its laying on a plastic!

Keep up the good work. I know you want to do all of this yourself but some items should be farmed out. This is a marathon and you need to save your motivation for all the work to come. I don’t think it would cost that much to professionally media blast the underside of the chassis. Keep the videos coming. BTW, I think your compressor is too small to keep that media blaster at the right pressure. A pancake compressor isn’t enough if thats what you are using,

If you called this video 10 budget sandblasting tools compared (or something like that) you'd get 1 million views. Same as your L28 tune up videos. Change the title to something more generic and get some views. Your videos are awesome.

On the one hand it's awesome, your willingness to jump in to a large project that will be largely a solo learning process. that said, You need to triangulate those god damned posts you put under the body of that car before you move it another inch, and that front-to-back and side-to-side. The torque that the wheels on the ends of those posts are exerting on the two little chassis bolts is unsafe. Those bolts have a shit ton of tensile strength, they are not meant to handle the type of load you're exposing them to right now. Good luck!
