@@SlavicUnionGaming There are all types of collectors. Most working examples were taken as trophies which means they may or may not have ever seen combat. And most battlefield artifacts are not in usable condition. The fact that this one is both a battlefield artifact and seeming working condition makes it quite rare and highly desirable for the right collector.
@C.Double.
@C.Double. Жыл бұрын
@@khyronkravshera7774 No... no actual collector would want anything to do with this. Only someone who knows nothing about actual firearms, or collectiing would even suggest that. I have multiple war relics that saw service/combat and are fully functional... it isnt that rare to find, whats rare is finding then original as issued, all matching markings and unmolested.

Great job. This pistol is one of the most dangerous when partially dissembled. With the trigger mech still active on a detached barrel .

I am very impressed with the welding skills that were shown in this project! This whole project was awesome to watch. I have never been as impressed with a KZbin farm video as I was with this restoration of this Lugar. The welding skills and the gunsmith skills that were showed in this restoration project were unbelievable. At first it looked like the person was going to just salvage parts off the gun and maybe sell them or something. But then, as I saw the Welding commence, I knew that it was on! My hat is off to you, sir.

@@Jay-jb2vr there are "restoration" channels where they fake age either in a salt bath or bury it in the yard. Then film a montages of the "repair" for clicks. Some enjoy the montages, but most find it disingenuous and shows little skill since it amounts to a montage of disassembling and cleaning, not restoration.

Having an extensive background in welding, from TIG on down to plain old Oxy-Acet., started taking on jobs for farmers and collectors who could no longer find critical 100 yr.old parts for their tractors.Water pumps, engine blocks,etc.Once in a while if it's a rare piece I'll do a knife or Zipper lighter. Your video of your restoration work on that hunk that most would have thrown away was absolutely exemplary, and showed great experience.I know the satisfaction it brings.Subscribed 👏👏👏

This was an amazingly good restoration. Good display collection piece. Though it’s firing days are done, I am absolutely blown away how well this turned out!

I was surprised that the restorer used mig welding where tig would be far more accurate, but what an absolutely talented artisan to bring back to life what was otherwise scrap. Congratulations on your skills and thank you for a brilliantly shot video

I bet the original manufacturers (at DWM ?) of this Luger, a hundred years ago, would have had a keen interest to see this video.

I have one of those pistols in my collection. It's a very well-made weapon. My late 30's Luger slides like butter after all these years. I have never had one jam on me. They are becoming harder and harder to find.
