When I was in the service, I was in a maintance company,. the firsrt Sargent told me to go rob a canvas from a duce and a half over behind the big building, When I rounded the corner in the jeep, there were rows upon rows of these vehicles the Army was getting rid of. Every type and year. it was a sight to see. I loved working on this vehicle, they were so simple to work with and dependable. Only thing that kept me from running off with one was Levenworth.

Would be fun to drive if softer leaf springs and gas shocks were installed. Saving the originals of course.

These belong in the US Army Transportation Museum on Ft. Eustis.

No, I prefer them being in private ownership. The army has bad habit on not taking good care of their preserved vehicles

@@oddball759mm The majority of museum employees are volunteers, (nonpaid), and former military personnel whom have an invested interest in preserving history.

@@joeavent5554 Yes, which is why the Army's restorations are the worst in the world. Often never completed because of the turn around of the non paid volunteers / as well as being underfunded. When they are completed they are drained of fluids, hatches welded shut and for good measure painted badly. And for the few that are properly done, or were in the process of getting done many times things are moved around where they sent to hanger or a warehouse on another base somewhere and get damaged or parts get lost...ect. I have personally seen this happen on several occasions. So no I don't have much faith in the US army museum system. If you compare the US system to The others like Bovington, Kubinka, Munster or saumur our system is a joke

You should bring it to the October 2022 Great Smoky Mountain Convoy. See HISTORY in MOTION magazine of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association.

None of these vehicles are mine. I only photographed / filmed all of these military vehicles while visiting the show. Same is true for all my real military vehicle walk around videos

Those NDT's (Non-Directional Tread) are not the type the US Army issued. They are probably better in most situations though.
