This may very well be the most amazing restoration project I’ve seen on KZbin. In spite of the horrible condition it was in, he was able to restore a fair amount…and using parts that were unsalvageable to fix parts that were was a nice touch. It kept as much original material as possible under the circumstances.

My very favourite part of restoration videos is the fabrication of replacements for missing parts. This video had that in abundance from the casting of the wheel to the completely new cage on the back of the truck. Thank-you for this!

Whoa. I can't believe some of that metal cleaned up and polished. I like that trick of connecting the wheel to the drill to sand easier. Your body work is excellent. Using salvaged bits to fill missing body parts.

@Presidente Calderon This is basicly the Ship of Theseus Paradox, when you replace all the parts of an object to the point of creating a new one you can't tell which is the original object. That's why I like restorations that change minimally the original pieces, to prevent the object from being de-characterized.

Absolutely fantastic restoration. Very few would have even attempted let alone made it look as wonderful as you did. The only thing I would have tried different is to match the blue paint it was originally painted to make it look more authentic. Otherwise, outstanding job!

13:06 when you layed out the pieces at the start of the assembly process...I got tears in my eyes.... I had some pretty cool metal trucks that were made in the 1960s and I wish I had just one of them to send to you to have it restored. There was such quality in the construction of these older toys.
