If U ever take off the action to clean/repair/replace/etc., good luck getting that main spring back on. The Springfield mainspring is a tough mf to take on and off and even tho it’s isn’t a Springfield, the spring is similar if not the same type. I just replaced some parts on my 1861 and the action is the exact same as urs is. I made a video describing the process and how to reassemble it. Nice work on cleaning ur gun up. Edit: u can buy a special vice in order to take off the main spring.

I have been looking into buying a main spring vice because I own a good little bit of muzzleloaders and restoration of them is hard when you can’t fully take every thing apart and that vise is the last thing and you just remind me so thank you and I hope you have a great rest of your day
