OK Bud, you should just Remove all the Deck squares and then get the "boxes" out straight up. Let it all air dry as you work on the outside. You do not sound happy about what you are doing. Take a break and picture your dream and go for it. Yes, it is a toughie, but look at the history that you are saving for the World and those that gave all so you could do what you are doing. Cheers, Rich

Great update... it was a relief to see that the internal layer is in such a good condition. Keep up the good work!

Right! A craft = Roughly boat-shaped aperture in the natural water-table in which to sacrifice means and effort for dubious results.

Nice work mate good to see she looks pretty solid below decks. I suppose if you're gonna rebuild a nearly 100 year old boat an almost indestructible lifeboat is probably a good choice...keep pushing on 💪

Hi, I’m half way through the video so far and I applaud your perseverance. Just looking at what’s down below, I think I would be disheartened, thrown up my hands, walked away and gotten a pint, then gone home and went to bed. Cheers. I still think that maybe some one with a bit more knowledge could help guide you in your endeavor.

The harder the task, the greater the reward through sense of achievement when it’s done. Plus in your case, she’s an historic boat in more ways than one. I’ve taken on massive projects single handed in the past, converting a grade 2 listed church hall into a house was my last. Don’t look at it as a whole or it can be overwhelming and disheartening. Concentrate on one step at a time in order of making your task as easy as can be and most of all when it’s getting on top of you, take a break or it’ll bring you down. Keep positive, the RNLI Watson class were built tough(as all RNLI boats are for reliability)and they didn’t skimp cutting corners for the technology at the time. Look at the final goal when one day you’ll be motoring her along at the envy of many a man and your chest will be bursting with pride. Well done, keep at it, you’ll get there.😊👍

You should get a few cheap 1" light rachet straps. The type for holding surfboards or similar to a roof rack. It would give you a better hold on those boxes. Mind you getting the strap around some of them could be an issue. For comfort sake I'd just use a paper mask to keep dust out of your pipes. The full dust/ vapour mask is a bit of an overkill and darn uncomfortable for any more than 10 minutes. I've worn them all, up to State of the art 3M and they still feel like a tin of beans on your nose. I was recommended a 'Trend Stealth' mask. Shaped like a flys eye; light as a feather and very compact. Designed for woodwork where you need to get in close. The filters are inside, with dust and vapour elements available. Easy to rinse out too, with a little drain plug. Have to say its the only mask I dont mind putting on. Your head torch while an excellent brand, gives limited light for dark caverns. I had an early version back in the '80's for night walking. 3 'c' cells driving a halogen bulb, jeez the weight. I upgraded for work purposes to a brand called LED Lenser. Focusable beam and an adjuster on the back of the battery box for light intensity. Both are reasonably cheap for what they are and available at screwfix or Amazon. Having to wear uncomfortable PPE is just so off putting and wearing on the soul. I'm glad I have finally retired and only have to wear a mask for wood work. Keep plugging away, hard going on your own.

Not sure where the boat is but YOU NEED TO LEAVE HER OPEN under the cover remove all hatches etc and let the air circulate everywhere leave the wheelhouse and cabin open .

The boat may have had asbestos used in its past and the paints will almost certainly contain lead and possibly other heavy metal s .. he's also having to sort out the structure and archeology of the boats history post lifeboat use. 🤷🏻♂️

I love these types of films I have seen many and I applaud them, but as for this one oh dear, this is going to cost more than a fortune to even get near right, I think you should stop and take up another Hobby. shame really. It's a bit too late.
