The midsole was being a pain even with acetone and a heat gun? I just got some Jordan 3 Kobe PE reps that look really good, but I'm lowering the elephant print. The midsole wasn't too bad to take off.

Personally I’ve found donors that are nearly brand new will be a bit more difficult to work with. The donors I used for this Resto was from late 2022 and had probably been worn a handful of times, but I’ve also had zero issues on newer donors too so I think it’s kind of luck of the draw.

I never would've used a donor shoe on that pair. The nubuck was beyond destroyed. There was no need to fill it and paint it. Looks awful either way. I hope this was a commission so you didn't waste money on this. That's not a sacred og pair to restore. The huge gap in the front has forced me to cancel many of sole swaps. Especially on Jordan 9s. It's near impossible on OG pairs. You could've cut the front of the foam midsole on that pair to make it fit better. Otherwise, it came out looking mint. You did a great job for what you had to work with. Selecting the right jobs is so vital in this profession. No matter how good you are, some shoes just cannot be saved.

Also, the guy footprinse who sells that nubuck powder... Its really a bad product. His patent leather paint isn't bad though but you need to use a really cheap airbrush for it.

OR... Just buy another pair of shoes. You can pickup a brand new Jordan 3 green glow or Fear for like $100 to $150. I'd rather wear one of those than this. One could also go the used route and something in good shape and with more hype for about that same price.

So strange to see the word "Vintage" for shoes I wore when they first came out. Doesn't seem like it was that long ago🙄
