Great job; I have a 86 1100 what I’ve had since new.

Wow...first owner! That's pretty sweet. Not a lot of people can say that.

Hey Ralph!! Thanks! I just test fitted the swing arm back in the frame. Rims will be taken to get tires on them next week. Hopefully I'll have a rolling chassis soon. Take care!

I use a MAP torch to heat up the aluminum rim which makes it easier to remove the bearings.

Yeah, I ended up buying a small torch too…works like a charm.

Great job but I agree after seeing them on the finished bike, they're a bit too dark.

Too dark and too red. And since I'm still a YT noob, I just finally realized what white balance and colour space are. When it's outside in the sun, it's not too bad at all since all the paint has a lot of contrast. If I get really bored one day, I'll do them over with a color closer to OEM.

Beautiful wheels. It reminds me of when I did mine except I did all the sanding and polishing myself. A loooooong and arduous process. Don't know if I will ever do this again kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXvKiYGsibepjqc
