Restoring and repair of the Broken Xbox series X|S Controller No Power & NOT CHARGING - ASMR

I bought this broken Xbox series S controller Model 1914 on eBay for $10 to try to fix it. it smells disgusting like the smell of wet socks or rotten wood.
When I plugged the controller in it had no power and didn't respond at all. The seller said It fell to the ground from a height and did not work again after that even if it was connected via cable. I think the fell to the ground from a height broke this antenna.
According to some fix on KZbin, I'll go ahead and reflow this main chip on the board that just means I'm going to heat it until the solder balls underneath melt and I'm doing this because they fell to the ground from a height I suspect there may be faulty solder joints underneath this chip.

Something is off in this video. I've had the same identical white controller since launch (it's in front of me right now) and it isn't this dirty. The underside of the grips, the triggers and bumpers both have texture on them which can easily accumulate dirt from usage and I don't see much of it here. Either some of the dirt on this controller was artificially added or it was still new / barely used when it was water damaged.

The fault seemed to be the main chipset on the board not having correct contact to the board, due to impact or liquid damage. He used a heat-gun with flux material to 'reball' the chip, where the heat melts the flux and the solder contacts on the chip to the board, to renew the solder. Also, he used thermal-tape on the components close to the chip, so that the heat-gun would not de-solder any other component close to it. If i missed something else, please let me know, cheers!

how did you restore the bumper piece? mine's been broken for a while, i tried gorilla glue but the heat from it always caused melting, and super glue breaks after a couple uses and leaves the gunk.

The broken bumber is a common and annoy problem, it hasn't any solution except replacing it , I've got this white controller and it has a problem that the analog sticks drift to any direction, i don't know why? Is this a common issue with this controller or it is a random bad luck ? I dunno but I tried a different ways but neither of them is useful Please tell me what should i do , Happy new year everybody

A common reason Xbox controllers develop drift issues is dirt building up within the controller, preventing the analog stick from working optimally. The easiest way to fix this issue involves using a can of compressed air to clean the cavities surrounding the analog sticks. Happy New Year!

I have the Forza Horizon 5 Limited Edition Xbox Controller and the LB Button broke, so I bought a new screwdriver, some bits, and some Gorilla Glue Super Glue took it apart, took the broken piece from the LB section of the Bumpers and super glued it back together, had to let it sit before leaving for work. Came back, put the Bumpers and everything back together, now good as new.

Most are intentionally dirty, none the less it doesn’t affect me and these videos inspired me to clean and open up my controllers not only saving money but making money. No dudo que haces un buen trabajo restaurando este tipo de cosas, pero sería más creíble lo de tus restauraciones milagrosas, si desde el principio dejaras claro que no están manipuladas para hacerte ver más genial de lo que ya eres. Es decir, está de más el corte que hiciste en el video cuando pusiste las pilas y giraste el control para verificar si "encendía", así como cuando conectaste el cable usb-c al control y el otro extremo quien sabe si estaba conectado a algo o no. Pequeños detalles que hacen que uno dude de ti y que verdaderamente no son necesarios, sobre todo con el gran trabajo que haces. Crítica constructiva creo yo.

he cuts twice. After putting the batteries in and before taking them out. If you see the inside part where the batteries are supposed to go it’s very clean. Also there is no way a controller that looks like this would have everything else perfect that is the buttons the sticks the triggers and things like that. Obviously fake video. Sad to see…
