Thanks for the video. You helped me realize that I did the same thing you did with the float needle. I overlooked that small detail in the service manual as well. Hence, the reason I am here trying to figure out what I did wrong and gas is pouring out of the carb if I leave it overnight!

oh no!! I'm glad the video helped though!

Watching this vid makes me want to pick up another oem carb and do a cleaning on it lol, it came out looking sweet!

Carbs are so satisfying to clean because there's not much to em and you can really turn a turd into a brand new looking piece.

Nice vid! OOhhhh, an OEM carb for your DT!?!?! Aww yah. The DT is gonna love it! Something about new vent tubes or new grips...it's like a fresh new pair of socks...ahhhhhh. lol

Thanks man! Love me some fresh vent tubes! It's the cherry on top after a rebuild. And yessss OEM carb baby, hopefully that solves the issues I am having with the china clone.

What is that brass bolt or spacer that the main jet screws into? I bought a basket case bike, took the carb apart and it was running with the main jet missing. I got some jets and screwed one in but I think the needle is hitting it and not allowing the slide all the way down. Seems like the jet needs to be lower in the bowl

In the roof of the float chamber there is two holes above each float. When I blow down, the nearest hole is clear but the other feels blocked. What are these holes? Are they connected? Should both be clear?

Awesome! Question...at 7:41 in the video you have what looks like a black cap under the choke. Is that the oil injection port for a 2 stroke?
@kosmoto Жыл бұрын
Apologies for late reply. Correct, that is the oil injection port that would typically be hooked up to the oil pump output! Although these pumps are regarded as reliable, you don't know it's not working until it's too late, so I just plug off all the connections and run pre-mix. A bit more hassle but at least I know my engine is getting lubed.

Nice video but I wish you talked through it explaining step by step and by the way you put the main body of the carburetor in the fluid to be cleaned but what about all the jets?

Same carb, a bit newer and on Kawie 4-wheeler. Big difference though is the seat on mine is plastic and pressed in. Garbage. Will soon be replacing (most likely) with an el cheapo model.

Great vid showing exactly how to clean & rebuild it. About to do the same thing with the VM36 off my IT250H I'm restoring. Other than gaskets & O rings what else did you replace? ( hard to tell on the vid ) or did everything go into the ultrasonic cleaner?

Where did you buy the replacement kit from? And any chance you know what the float height should be set to? I’ve been having trouble with my carb
