Thanks Phill, that seems like a decent little grinder, I've not seen one with those features before, good idea to change the lights so you've got good visibility of the work ! I like that you keep things straight-forward and practical it makes your content very relatable ! Often when fitting a wire wheel people leave off the guards, obviously this is personal choice and dependent on your own risk assessment, but be careful that nothing gets drawn down and jammed against the guard in use. More importantly, and perhaps counter-intuitively, I believe it is considered bad practice to wear gloves while using the wire wheel, as they can.snag and pull your hand into the wheel !

Cheers Andy 👍🏻 usually I wouldn't wear gloves when using a grinder I've just had sore hands recently just trying to keep them covered for now until they are back to normal.

I bought an old beast a while back and do intend to bring it back to life. I was planning to attach it to my bench but now I will make a tray like yours so that I can use it outside. But you have got me in two minds about the wire wheel. I’d never thought about one before but it does work really well. So I’ll have a little think about it but will probably go that route because it makes the machine more versatile. Great video and plenty to think about. Cheers 👍🏼

I like the wire wheel because I don't think I would ever really need 2 different stones on a grinder. Usually one stone is so coarse that its only useful for very rough work and that's not really something I need. It is so much quicker to clean up a tool with a wire wheel than by hand. Hi Phill, what a great modification to a bench grinder, new bulbs and a wire wheel looks a good set up. That is giving me ideas to mine, I got a smaller grinder I need to change one of the grinding stones to a wire wheel, I been thinking about this for a long time. Great video catch you soon take care

Thanks Shaun 👍🏻 I like the wire wheel it works well for rust removal on tools. I would recommend the Clarke wire wheel I bought. It's well made I think. Some of the cheapest wire wheels are quite unbalanced I have found.

Just a little advice don’t wear gloves when grinding some nasty things can happen 🥺

Yes I wouldn't normally wear them for the bench grinder but I've got sore hands at the moment I needed to keep them covered.
