Don't forget to change the timing belt/tensioner/water pump. If the belt breaks on that engine, you'll be in for at least a new head. The car looks good - as far as the plastics go, on my old mk4 Golf TDI I just removed the 'soft touch' stuff and then painted the parts with satin black. They wound up looking brand new again. There's a video on youtube somewhere demonstrating how to do that. Also, be really careful with the new glovebox handle. They break on these cars without much effort. I was extremely careful with mine, and it finally broke after 18 years. I put 400K on my Golf before I sold it and bought a mk7 Golf TDI. Great cars!

yours is significantly prettier on the outside than mine and I bought mine for $2k with 145k miles. Also Don't listen to losers on the internet. Offroading TDI Jetta's is the most fun you can have with the given money!
@dreygrach3 жыл бұрын
Oh yes that's for sure haha, I don't mind the haters they make it more fun, and you don't really need to much money to make a nice offroader out of these cars!

Most important thing is to make sure that the timing belt is kept up with. replace it ASAP if you are unsure.
@dreygrach3 жыл бұрын
Oh yes I know, replacing the timing belt every 70k miles this engine will run forever.

This is the 90hp/155 ft-lbs torque ALH TDI. Not a ton of power, but enough to get you to whatever speed you want.
