These are great cars, cant wait to see it done. 6 year old me is so happy! I remember my dad taking me with him when he worked at Seat. “Bring the kids day” or something a long those lines. They had all these activities there witch I didn’t give a crap about because in the corner there was a brand spanking new 2006 Leon Demo with a lot of stickers (seat racing team) From that day my dad had to bring me to his job every once in a while because I couldn’t shut up about the Leon. It kind of looks like the one you are restoring. So as a 22 year old I’m watching this video with full attention. Edit: it’s funny because I never ended up buying a Leon later in life. I drive a Golf now 💀

Dean , sure we all heard the f-word when you were doing wheel arch liners 😂😂. Why not just get some spray on rust converter for the underside , most of them turn black anyway and it’s pretty cheap too

Tip for dealing with large areas of surface rust, don't bother with a wire wheel on an electric drill, get a set of wire wheels for an angle grinder and it takes minutes instead of hours.

Dean, the reason I watch and have subscribed to your channel is to see these kind of restoration works. I understand that there needs to be a point that comes when expenditure outweighs return. But, if I was a potential car buyer who subscribes to your channel and seeing the effort being put in to ensure that not only the car is road worthy but there is a longevity to it as a result of what and how you have repaired it, then I would think that the asking price, whatever it may be, would be well worth it.

Brings back memories of severe spanner rash working on cars that were only 3 years old in the70’s, that were completely rotted out! I'm surprised you got the wheels off without problems. I recently tried to get the wheels of my Mk3 2019 Leon and they were stuck fast. When I did get them off with a screwdriver and hammer down the back slot there was a lot of galvanic corrosion of the alloy wheel (white oxide powder) and rust on the hub. The corrosion was evident at the contact point. All greased before replacement.

You can also get some rust converter for the bottom, before you gonna seal it, because you would probably just seal in the rust but it would go on rusting still.

It is a real Restoration on this SEAT but i still think it is worth doing the job. And yes small and bigger problems are showing off but the "hart "off the car seems to be more than oke ! And so many rust for a car that is only 15 years old, that surprises me in a bad way but like you said maybe it is the color that is making it more dramatic. Well the video was very interesting because off what is coming next....Still i believe the car is worth it and will end up very good and bring still some profit at they end ! See you on the next video Dean !

You give me hope because I have to replace one of those rear hubs on my Leon. Strongly suggest not just undersealing the car in the state it's in. Get some rust converter liquid / paste and apply that to get rid of the little bits of rust remaining. Undersealing the car as it is with all the old rust still there will just trap in the moisture and rust 10x quicker

I am in the same situation with my 20 year old Fiat Stilo jtd, I need new shocks and springs all round and the bolts are all badly corroded and will all break so its a case of finding the bolts and getting them in before I by the shocks and springs. But as you know it will be worth it to get a few more years out of the car.

The rear arms often need rivnuts putting in to mount the suspension level sensor. And assembling the suspension is much easier off the car. On the car when the springs are on everything is at the wrong angle to get the bolts in without a fight.
