Leanne Betasamosake Simpson is clear-cut and thoughtful with her words. She gives great insight into the topic of land rights and the importance of it. Miigwetch!

The story of Dr. Peter Paul, a Wolastoqiyik man in New Brunswick is a poignant case in point. In 1949 he was arrested and jailed for cutting ash for baskets, a tradition his people have been practising for thousands of years.

This is what I have been thinking about. I heard there was an organization out of B.C. setting up a structure so that settlers can voluntarily give back land to First Nations. Does anyone know anything about this organization?
