I found a rusty old grease gun to restore for a couple of euros. The tool was rusty and dirty but seemed to work fine so I removed the rust, cleaned it up and gave it a new paint job.
I started by disassembling and cleaning the grease off the grease gun. Then I tried how well only wirebrush works for removing rust. It gets the job done but electrolysis or vinegar would have made the process much easier.
For the paint job I used basic gray acrylic spray base paint. Then I was supposed to use up some left over yellow automotive paint for the cartridge but I totally forgot the yellow paint is more transparent than black paint and went overboard with the paint. I didn't have enough paint left so I just painted the whole thing black with 2K automotive paint. I'm quite new to painting with spray gun so there is still a lot to learn but the results are ok, I think.
