Nice restoration! A lil advice: never blow at a fan with a compressor. It can spin up above its designed RPM and there is a chance to do damage to the bearing. The PS3 Slim equipped with 3 different cooling fans during its lifecycle, each have its own rated speed. Judging from the Nidec fan its a 2000/2500/3000 series modell.

Bought a black slim version used at GameStop in 2009 or 2010. It was a birthday present to myself. I got it just in time as my sibling had bought a first gen 80GB PS3 off of a crackhead for $60 and IT STILL WORKED! (I could've shaken him for even taking the guy up on the offer, because he had not tested it beforehand. Or maybe the guy had stolen it from someone...my sibling did not ask questions 😅). The console overheated easily, however, an issue with all of those models. It lasted him a year with heavy use, not too shabby for $60, I say. Shortly after it breathed its last, I got mine and I was happy to bring some joy back into my brother's life as he was definitely sad when his console died. Small town with nothing else to do. I don't play video games as much as him, so he used mine way more than me. He's the one that got God of War 3 and it blew the whole family away with its stunning opening. Good times 😊

It always warms me to see someone properly repair and clean something another person just deems trash. All it needed was a little love and attention and it'll love you back. That's one of the many broken PS3s brought back from the dead to live a long healthy life. Some people don't care or take em for granted now, but soon 7th gen will be hard to come by as it's one of the most unreliable generations in terms of hardware failure due to improper heat dissipation/air flow. In the nearby future, in 15-20 years from now (maybe sooner) these machines might skyrocket in value due to nostalgia and supply. We should all learn to appreciate what we have when we have it because one day, it may not be there.
