The engine is actually one designed and used in the UK for the Triumph Herald of that period so engine spares are much more available then the rest of the car because there were more then 100,000 made.

Absolutely! If they are struggling, they could always try Googling it. Or eBay. "But, the Amphicar has a British-built engine and no-one is sure it'll work" - Only a narrator could say this without laughing. If it is because it is old, it doesn't matter where it was made. If it is because of where it is made, it doesn't matter how old. How about "They have got this far in the rebuild and not tested the engine" - That'd work.

It was first used in the standard 10 in the mid 1500s plus they used it in a load of other cars the number should be in the millions.

@@liamblackett6611 True enough the 100,000 number was just for the 948cc Heralds which is not really relevant to the Amphicar as it used the 1147cc,1296cc and 1493cc versions exact numbers could be found but it would consume time I do not have I am afraid.

This show would have been at least twice as long if the ad breaks had been kept in! ;-)

Alan not a suited person to shoulder this kind of shows. He maybe a good business person but his pushy, sarcastic and hard boiled personality makes this series….less enjoyable to watch. I wish he can relax a bit. But still, its a good show to watch.

I should say, not the 1st time seeing a show with him in it.
