thank you for not filing the metal smooth and using auto body filler to fill in the deep pits. A lot of restoration channels like to do that. would be cool to know what parts you had to replace in order to get it fully functional again

Actually the only parts I replaced were the grips! Usually the exterior of the guns rust a lot more than the interior so it’s easy to reuse the parts!

Y'know the S&W is an old revolver, it was 1852 when it was first manufactured

I would still be concerned about the bore and the threading prob will still get a new barrel from ebay.

I was absolutely not expecting him to shoot with this beaten gun.

My main concern is the barrel and cylinder being weaking by deep Pitting do to rust

prob 38 special
@BrendanW021415 күн бұрын
Considering it’s a Model 36 smith, without a doubt .38 special

Probably 38 spl cowboy loads. They didn’t even penetrate the target, a plastic straw could probably handle the pressure without breaking. That makes them perfect testers for a project like this and I wouldn’t shoot anything in that gun except cowboy loads

Храбрый дядька стрелять из такого!

Ну в принципе он не сильно пострадал, но в целом да, я бы в руку его не взял, хотя, не исключаю патроны с малой навеской пороха. Чтобы не разорвало барабан
