Restoring Sun Faded Black Trim on my Mustang GT500 Using That Black Stuff

If your experience is like mine (assuming you have that car for a bit), the trim will fade again in a few months. If it does, try Cerakote Trim Coat. That stuff has worked great. Easy to use and so far has lasted over a year and looks the same. Just don’t use it on smooth plastic, only textured.

I don't know if you can find it but we used this real thin (as in thin not 2" inch or 1 " but 1/8 ") masking tape to go around corners. Then come back with the wider tape. Also used it for pin striping like a guide... lay out in tape and then run the brush next to it. Think flames and contour lines. Just saw those corners and it reminded me.

Best product by far is a company called DFT and the product is Restore. Used it for many years and last a long time.

Prevention - Periodically liberally spray on 303 Protectant , let sit for ? then wipe off / in with microfiber towel .

Silicon detailing spray works far better.

That's all ANY of these products are is silicone based adhesives. Nothing "actually" fixes the sun damaged plastic, that damage is permanent. No application of ANYTHING fixes that. It is all just temporary cosmetic stuff no different than good old fashioned armor all.
