The world would be a happier place if everyone got to work outside and in this type of environment. Happier animals and people.

Mr. Harris was a guest on the Joe Rogan podcast. I seriously recommend listening to it as he goes to great lengths to explain the "why" behind White Oak Pastures. We have ordered a box of White Oak Pastures beef for my parents for Christmas. This way of farming is fascinating.

This is an absolutely beautiful and meaningful episode. Wild and Whole Sourced and anything Fishing/Spearfishing related are by far my favorite shows here. I'm a Vegan (seagan--I also eat seafood) who is teetering on moving into hunting as an ethical form of food sourcing. This show functions as a wonderful ambassador for those currently on the fence.

Miss Danielle, you must visit Polyface farms in ourShenandoah valley here in Virginia. They wrote the book on regenerative farming and animal husbandry. Simply amazing place.

Hey Danielle, this seems like a pretty solid expedition you're going to embark on. I work for a research company that studies Regen-Ag practices called Ecdysis. Our lab is called Blue Dasher Farms in eastern SoDak. We're currently working on the world's largest agricultural study trying to study 1000+ farms before 2030 to look at different practices and how they affect ecosystems in the field/surrounding area's. Feel free to reach out or look us up online if you're looking to learn more about regenerative practices! Keep up the good work!

Honestly my next big goal is getting a decent sized acreage. Owning a little piece of my favourite topography, planting cover and food sources for upland birds and deer and generally managing an ecosystem is my fondest dream. I hope it comes soon

1:44 fire doesn’t necessarily = climate change. A prairie fire like you’re showing is a good thing for a prairie. In a rainforest fire is a bad thing. It’s possible to mimic any ecosystem in a way that produces food for people, as well as nature.

There are definitely farms like this all across the country but with less initiatives than this farm. A decent way to go about this is to search for grass fed farms in your state and go to their website or call them or even ask for a tour of the farm. Another place you can look is a local farmers market selling pasture raised beef and ask them about their practices. You can also buy online. A farm that’s local to me (well, about 150 miles away) either shops or has checkpoint drop offs where you can go pick up an order more locally once a month or so. They’re out there but WO is certainly the standard in the US.

White Oak Pastures had done some great work, but they make a lot of statements about being carbon negative and so on which is simply not true. They require 5-6 times as much land to raise their cattle as conventional beef operations. Soul also eventually stops sequestering carbon so this offset they use cannot be used forever. The study they funded to assess their carbon footprint didn’t account for the feed they bring in for the hogs and poultry as well. As interesting and cool of an operation as this is, it’s not a solution.

Please educate me as I have heard that the methane gas produced by cattle might be worse than the carbon dioxide?
@MsQ275

I used to believe the same thing but it's a lie. There is impact from the factory farms but not the regenerative farms. I don't have the info to cite but you can find it by searching online. Climate change is a new world order lie that will only hurt the poor, which is anyone who's not a millionaire.
@vitaly6312
@vitaly6312 Жыл бұрын
Carbon stays in the atmosphere for hundreds of years while methane only 10-12 years or so. If methane was one of the main contributing factors to climate change then it would have had a huge influence for thousands of years since the USA had millions of Buffalo roaming the continent before we (colonial settlers/expansionists and native Americans) got really good at exterminating them through the use of guns, horses, drives, and other techniques. A good recommendation for the complete breakdown of this is a book called Sacred Cow, I believe they made a documentary of it as well that you might be able to find.
