Thanks Richard - hopefully at some point I’ll be able to do more videos than just me taking my engine apart over and over again… 😄

Tengo el mismo y tiene humedad dentro del faro. Como puedo arreglar eso?

Have a 450h and I used a kit that did a good job but it doesn't come close to your attention to detail sir! Well done, excellent results. When it comes time to do it again I'm gonna take my time!

In case anyone's wondering, most of this was filmed in Summer, on a day when it was about 100% humidity. Spraying a load of water about and then performing physical activity therefore had the effect of turning my garage into a sauna. Being Scottish, a light-bulb gives me a tan, so this means you'll see me getting sweatier and sweatier as the video goes on!

brother I did the same and they are better now, but the headlights of these cars look cracked inside maybe the sun, anyway I bought them new in the dealers, very expensive, but aftermarket they are not good and they get water, good video bro

Thanks 👍 At some point I’ll probably put new lenses on it, but until then they look decent enough!

Do you sand it manually vs power tools for a specific reason?
@MikeMacful2 жыл бұрын
Primarily because there’s a bit more time to check you’re not going too far, plus there’s less chance of going somewhere you don’t intend to. Power tools are probably a bit overkill.

I noticed on your latest videos it began to get slightly yellow again, so this method holds up around 6-8 months? thinking of what method to use to restore mine, was thinking just sanding up to 2000 then 2k clear coat.

I was just saying the same to my wife today! TBH I think those lenses were too damaged with all the micro cracks etc so I’ll look at replacing them at some point. In terms of lasting, the set I did on my old Accord still look great about two years later so the method shown does work - just depends how far gone the H/L were as to how long it lasts…

@@MikeMacful Perhaps look into the 78 Works L Line v2 Replacement headlights with Daytime LED's I have the same issue with the Plastic "cracking", and the headlight restore kit i used the UV protection turned slight yellow after 2 months, but this is in Australia... The lens replacements all seem to be generic Chinese ones, though have not tried contacting Lexus locally, id imagine it would be the same price as the 78 Works light assembly... Could also apply some light smoke film over the top? should stop the light coming in and highlighting the cracks.

@@apb1441 thanks for that Adam - I was looking at lenses but if they’re the usual Chinese tat I won’t bother! I’ve looked at other H/L units too, so will look at the 78’s, thanks.

@@MikeMacful out of curiosity I contacted Lexus Australia after my prior comment and they want.... $1400 AUD for one headlight assembly (does come with leveling motor, but no bulbs or HID assembly) The 78 works is $1000 for the pair... You do lose the leveling though...

you can buy brand new lenses for the headlights from Aliexpress for less than 110 USD shipped.

Yes - this was just as an interim measure, plus I was curious to see how they’d turn out.

I wish I could charge that - dealer labour rates are incredible - especially for what you get at times! 😄
