Question brotha you never used polish or a drill with the bids is it better with the spray or is it a matter of personal preference?

What's in the spray bottle? Great video, I need to do this to my headlights.

Hi Brad , how do you know when to start off with such a low grit sandpaper ? Also would you ever try a higher one then work your way down till the clear coat comes off ?
@ShoeHefner757 Жыл бұрын
Do the lowest fit that does the job. It makes no sense to increase the coarseness because you’re adding scratches versus remove bing them.
@StartRestoringHeadlights Жыл бұрын
Its based on the feel of the headlight. This is why its so important to do your inspection first. Yes and no. If you're still learning, its best to start with a 600 and see how it goes. If its difficult to remove, you can drop down if needed. Once you get more experience, you'll be able to determine what you're starting with based off the customer simply telling you what year, make and model the vehicle is.

@@grandmastert01 Thats awesome to hear Tom! It deffinitetly varies on how many you can do with 1 can. So no more visible scratches at the end of your restorations right? ;) Glad to have you on board!

Looks like after sanding it still appears cloudy before the clear coat. Is that pretty normal?

Do you ever work up from 600 grit? I did my moms nissan murano headlights and did 600, 800, then 1200 and see micro scratches. It was my first try at it lol
@StartRestoringHeadlights Жыл бұрын
No, thats the beauty of our kits. The clear coat has filling properties, so theres no need to go beyond the 600. This saves a lot of time and money since you don't need power tools, different rubbing compounds or a lot of different grits of sandpaper.

Half way through. My name is Joe Whitlock. I agree with everything up to 3:51 except the clear coat. I have commented on other videos of the same. But clear coat does nothing other than cover up a bad job. This is something I stand on. I use the polish method. I reject the clear coat method. I did it once at jiffy lube, and it looked worse. I hate to say it, but if your using the clear coat method...your doing it wrong. I didn't even know I saved this channel.
