Restoring Thrifted Build A Bears!

The bear that I am looking to restore has a voice box from 2005! It still works great! Bought it for my wife for our first Valentine's Day. He's just VERY dirty and well loved. Your video is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!

I have replaced the batteries myself on the circle sound chips (not like the one you found but it similar) you have to pry it open carefully, I used a flathead screwdriver and then you have to bend the metal pieces holding the batteries very careful so you dont snap them so you can push the batteries out. Then you put new batteries in, bend the metal back and snap the top and the bottom back together. Ta daaa!!

Thank you for making this video! I just found a BAB Pikachu at the swapmeet and his nose is missing. I’d love to restore him as close to the original as possible and knowing that I can ask them to restuff him is great since I wouldn’t want to keep the stuffing from the one I found. He’s also looking very misshapen so this helped a lot. Thanks again! :D

Totally! They'll restuff any bears no matter how old so long as they're build a bears!!! Hope things turn out well with your new friend!!! I've also heard of them replacing eyes and stuff too, so I hope you figured out how to fix his nose!!! (๑>◡

Will they stuff stuffed animals who are older looking? I have a dog and he’s 12 and a bit grungy looking. I’ll of course destuff and wash him but he’s 12, and used to be white and brown, so he’s clearly be well loved. Would they balk at sewing him back together if I wasn’t able to. I’d rather do it myself if I’m capable of it as I’m scared they’ll make a mistake and he is very loved so I’d cry probably.😅 if they ripped a hole in him or something.

So long as it's a build a bear there should be no problem!!! (ᵔ◡ᵔ) If they give you a problem then it's just the employees. The policy is all BABs no matter how old!

Hi I have one that's 5 years old has 2 holes and lost some stuffing I'm gonna pay to replace the sound and smell but is if a free repair for that I'm going tomorrow but I found out that they might send it to st louis if its to bad to fix t so I kinda wanna know if they will let me get her fixes in store

They usually allow repairs in store. I'm not too sure how the policy is at all BABWs. The best bet would be to bring it in or call the store to see what they can do. Also, sorry for late reply!!! (*_ _)人 I hope your BAB is feeling better now!!! (ᵔ◡ᵔ)

Is that tag for finding your build a bear something that they started doing in the past 10 years? I don’t remember this feature but I’d love to have one put in my little buddy Harry as I’d be so sad if he got lost.

It is a newer thing they've been doing I thiiiiiiink... maybe the past few years??? I'm not too sure. But I once saw someone buy one of those air tag things and put it inside of a bear once! They came in, had it reopened, put the tag in, and then the store sewed it up!!! (b ᵔ▽ᵔ)b
