I never thought of video games. At first, before it faded to look like it was the past and all we saw was the hands shaking as he light the lighter, and we could hear the frantic breathing, I automatically thought of a veteran having a flashback. But then my grandfather was in WWII and my dad was in Vietnam and I heard about them having flashbacks.

I have no clue how the first one ended up in my feed, but now I've sat, enthralled, through four of these, and I'm so impressed, and want this lighter SOOOOO much, it's indescribable. Amazing to watch the transformation. I've done this with a 1911 pistol that was in a flooded basement, placed into a plastic container, still wet and filled with silt and mud, then set on a shelf for several years. I did another one with a Husqvarna rifle from the 1870s that was in a flooded garage. My KZbin channel has me using them to do complete armorer's level tear downs and reassembly. I wish I had taken before/after pics, or thought to do restoration videos. This is awesome.

That is a beautiful piece. Good job on your restoration. I had a old Betty Jet lighter years ago. Unfortunately, it was stolen. But it had a interesting trick. Hold it on it's side and it shot the flame down to light your pipe. There is a metal bar inside it, that heats up and creates a "torch" effect. Very cool! Ding dong, you're wrong. They were made in the trenches on the western front from bullet casings. coolmaterial.com/feature/trench-lighter-history/ The branded IMCO lighters may not have been made until the 1920s, but there were plenty of lighters of this style in use in WWI.

To me, that lighter would be a treasure. Just knowing that was in the hands of a World War I soldier. Wow! Nice restoration job!
