Thanks for visiting the "Tonya, with the flowers." organic gardening channel. In the garden, I will answer some of the most common "gardening for beginners" type questions I get, including growing flowers from seed. Growing greens, growing flowers, and planting beautiful organic food is something I'm really passionate about. Thank you for joining me as I learn to grow flowers, cut flowers, vegetables, and much more. 'Tonya, with the flowers.' KZbin channel and related media are for entertainment purposes only.
Many ornamental flowers and cut flowers are TOXIC. ALWAYS do your own research and take responsibility for the plants that you introduce around your kids, pets, and everyone else. Use common sense when handling plant materials: wear gloves, always wash hands, avoid contact with face, etc. NEVER consume any plant which has not been positively identified with complete certainty to be safe and edible. Before planting anything, research to determine whether specific flowers are considered invasive where you live or if there are laws that apply to their planting in your area.

What is "Tonya, with the flowers."
"Tonya, with the flowers" and all associated content documents the pursuit of my goal of one day owning my own cut flower farm. Along the way, you'll see random projects, cooking, and of course - growing stuff. I'm not an expert, and would never claim to be. There's always more to learn - this is my journey. The purpose of my blog, and other social media accounts (including KZbin,) is to share ideas. I do my best to offer information that is useful, but reliance on that information is strictly at your own risk and NOT a substitute for professional advice of any kind. I saved seeds from last year and pre-sprouted them indoors in early spring. They were leggy and spindly but I managed to keep them alive and now they are doing so well outdoors in the garden! Looking forward to seeing what I get. So satisfying vs. buying more tubers.

@@ZuZu-gm6vz i did 5 that all came out as a dark orange single, then the one open pollination, is a large semi double orange color, with dark stems. Bloom size is about 5 across, it's my favorite so far. I'm gonna keep trying . You never know what you might come up on.

I LOVE #18. Also, I love this perspective. Dahlia digging/storing is hard. Who doesn’t love a surprise as beautiful as #18. I am going tuberless next year 😂

They all are pretty, I last year I picked up two packets at a mass discount store. Saved red and yellow seeds my plants are about 8in tall and some just sprouted. When did you start yours. I started mine April 15. I grow too many then give them to my neighbors. I'm in Ohio my the lake near Cleveland.

My dahlias suck this year. They started out amazing indoors. And then I planted them out into their beds, they didn't do anything. It's been a month and I still have the same leaves as I did in April when I put them out

Hi, Tonya, Aren't there certain plants that are illegal to propogate due to patents? I humbly suggest noting that caveat in your posts/videos.
