I've had lots of them and she will run fine at 120. Those Suzuki motors run great! Remove the fuel tank and clean it out. They usually need new fuel lines and carbs cleaned. They made single and dual carbs not sure what yours is! Ive got a 340 body like yours and a good Suzuki 500 motor i want to put in it! You won't be happy till you get that turbo sled once you get the bug its just like chainsaws the more power the more fun!!

120ish is plenty healthy for those. Not often you see a stock sled over 150. Clean the carb(s,) throw a coil at it if one side is dead, and it'll probably run.

I thought I could see a spark jumping on the “bad side” at 6:39 into the video without the plug in the wire.

You're right! I saw it too. This is good news. Maybe I just need to mess with the plug boot. Thank you!

Dont worry shell get plenty cold! 😂 n the winters have drastically changed just in my 40 yrs of growing up in Maine. My winters went spent snowmobiling n snowboarding. N once u get the sled bug, it wont go away. Its just as addicting as chainsaws

The plug cap might have a bad resistor. Swap the good wire over and check again.

Normal compression for that snowmobile is 125 , no lower than 115 ,
@Super-Dave-OutdoorsАй бұрын
As dumb as it sounds.... try cooking the ignition coil of the snowmobile in the oven at 250°F for 3-4hrs. Sounds like a joke but it is cheap and harmless enough to try and i have had it work enough to restore intermittent and weak ignitions.

😮😮 that could also be a bad sparkplug or sparkplug wires the ignition coil most likely would be no surprise either since its over 3O years old yep U ralking about getting warmed up U surely will pull starting that by hand W a rope electric start will be so much better and the fuel system will have 2 gone through as well the carb the fuel pump completey rebuilt the gas tank cleaned out it should no rust or trash in it either 😮😮 and a new fuel filter and a new battery AAMOCO /ASAP your arms will thank U 😊😊 OMG 12 18 2O24

if coil and cable could be separated -> change cable to working coil and check, if no spark -> cable is bad, otherwise its a coil
@Old_Indian_TrickАй бұрын
You will get a better compression test with the throttle open.

Not since the 70’s, I was able to run thousands of miles on a set. Think I put 3/4000 on my 1997 xcf without changing plugs.
