The fact remains, you must make the choice, no one else can do it for you. If you would like to listen to a Christian apologist I suggest Dr. Ravi Zacharias (he is on YT and he may answer any nagging questions you may have. Down-to-earth presentation, unapologetic and unashamed to be true-to-the-truth, vulnerable-n-transparent, respector of men, and witty, simply because he checked-Jesus-out through the Bible and historical accounts and said to himself, 'I would be a fool not to believe and allow Jesus to take-up-residence in my life, and use me to introduce others to Him - what a privilege, whether accepted or rejected!... just saying, 'Thank you, Stephen, for loving Him and others enough to seek to break-down barriers and misconceptions, so that others know Him'

Thank you for what you do. It's hard for intellectuals, but with the spirit is easier. At a point in time while in college in my sociological quest I was being told by my dean and professors that jesus doesn't exist. It took my foundational belief to hold me up. Jesus appeared to me twice as an adult and once as a child. He lives and I know. He appeared to my father just right after his conversion to the faith a long time before I was born. With my encounter I strengthen people and without that encounter I might not be this strong in faith and that no man can take from me. God bless you Sir. Shalom

Mr Miller. You are a beautiful man. Nothing to do with looks. Your knowledge of the ancient scripts are unbelievable. I am a theology reader and philosopher.. a believer yet not scared to question... The dogma of Christ Jesus our lord is cored in faith.hope.love. Jesus spoke philosophically in nature. I would like to think that the nature of Christ is knowing that you believe and never being scared to question about the text. To define your faith is to set boundaries. God's grace is sufficient proof of payment for sin and we shouldn't fear what was..but what is..

I do not believe they were copied from each other at all. All 4 gospels tell a story from the writers perspective (of course if they all witnessed the same thing, there stories will be similar, some details more prominent for one than the other). Even Luke's perspective is from numerous witnesses he gathered information from.

If people are saying it’s only the four anonymous writers of the gospels who speak about Jesus Christ, they should read the Old Testament too! There’s 66 Books in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, so there’s at least 66 authors, but the Bible is consistent in its message! And Paul, who previously persecuted the Christians terribly, and he was a Pharisee first and Foremost, became a believer when he was travelling on the road to Damascus. The journey was punctuated by a vision of Christ, at which point Paul, previously known as Saul, had a complete change of heart and was no longer a Pharisee! Is this not an excellent testimony? Because anyone who has a change heart, turning his hatred into Love after meeting with the risen Christ, must have had a profound revelation which validates the truth of Christianity! 🙏🙏🙏

Anonymous writers, a historian who said "there are those who call themselves Christians" decades after the death of Jesus, and people who were willing to die for something they believed in, like that never happened in any other religion. Sorry, not good enough for anyone with half a brain.

An eyewitness to the resurrection who's willing to die for what he knows to be the truth isn't comparable to a modern-day martyr willing to die for what he has been told is the truth. I'm sorry that's not good enough for those dear folks you said had only half a brain. But as I said, there are more facets involved than the three you mentioned. Those may be processed by the other half of a brain, though researchers haven't really mapped the brain well enough to distinguish what part does what. Their research seems to show that both halves share the processing duties.

What does mean jesus died for us?
@StephenMillerTheWriter
@StephenMillerTheWriter 5 жыл бұрын
I think it means different things to different people. Moses taught the Jewish people that sin was a capital offense in the eyes of a holy God, but that God allowed people to sacrifice an animal as a way of representing their sincere regret for sins they committed. New Testament writers teach that God ended the sacrificial system by allowing his son to die for the sins of people. That idea is expressed in the famous Bible passage of John 3:16, which says that God loved people so much that he gave his son to die so that people could live forever with him in the afterlife. That idea doesn't make a lot of sense to many people today. What does resonate with many is that Jesus died and rose again and ascended into heaven, showing that there is life after death, since Jesus promised that people could live, too, if they had the faith to believe in him and the promise he makes. Even that makes little sense to some, yet they believe what the Bible writers report that Jesus said and did. Others argue that it sounds like just another myth. You can read that in many of the more than 10,000 comments to this video.

No unclean soul can ever enter heaven or have eternal life only the blood of Jesus poured out in Calvary makes the soul pure to be able to enter eternal life because he is life and it's source... When you become one with him in body, mind and soul you have life in him. He is our creator and father so we are his children. When we sin we loose life as we separate from him. His love for us made him bring us back into life through his body and blood offered on the cross. Only he is risen from the dead and those who believe in him will be raised by him. So Jesus died for us to give life to those who believe.

It fixion crusefixion 91 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. 13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

666 and CÆSAR NERO Some will suggest that the book of Revelation was written only for those living at the time, and that 666 most probably applies to Cæsar Nero, who ruled Rome from 54 to 68 A.D., rather than someone from latter centuries. This point of view, which suggests Revelation had an immediate application to the first century, rather than being prophetic, is known as preterism, and is commonly held by the Catholic Church. So, just how is Nero linked to 666? The preterist takes a relatively uncommon form of Nero's name, Nero Cæsar or Cæsar Nero, and adds an "n", resulting in Neron Cæsar. Next the Latin is transliterated into Aramaic, resulting in nrwn qsr, which when using the numeric equivalent of the letters, then adds up to 666 as follows: Nun = 50 Resh = 200 Waw = 6 Nun = 50 Qoph = 100 Samech = 60 Resh = 200 An example of this spelling has apparently been recently discovered in one of the Dead Sea scrolls. (If you use the same process, but without the added "n" the result is 616. Interestingly, some early manuscripts of the Bible have 616 rather than 666, but even scholars such as Irenæus attribute the 616 to only a copyist error.) There is a problem though with the above calculation. According to the rules of Jewish numerology, known as gematria, when the letter Nun appears a second time in a word, it is known as a "Final", and takes the value of 700.* So to be precise, NRWN QSR actually adds up to 1316 and not 666. *Source: Behind Numerology, by Shirley Blackwell Lawrence, copyright 1989, published by Newcastle Publishing Co., Inc., North Hollywood, California, ISBN 0-87877-145-X, page 41. So the preterist calculation which attributes 666 to Nero, however, is nothing more than a rather desperate attempt to find some likely candidate for the Antichrist other than the Papacy. THE WORD ANTI- Look up in Strong's Concordance word 473 in the Greek dictionary. You will find the the word anti is often used to denote substitution- 473. anti, an-tee'; a prim. particle; opposite, i.e. instead or because of (rarely in addition to):--for, in the room of. Often used in composition to denote contrast, requital, *substitution*, correspondence, etc. An example of how anti is used this way can be found in the words type and antitype, which are used with respect to Bible prophecy. The "type" is the pattern or symbol, and the antitype is the fulfillment. The Jewish Passover was a "type" and the crucifixion of Jesus is the "antitype" or fulfillment of the example of the type. You substitute the antitype into the symbolism of the type to arrive at the complete meaning. The Catholic Church has essentially confirmed this usage of the word anti. In the 1994 Catholic Almanac on page 158 there is "the list of men who claimed or exercised the papal office in an uncanonical manner." So these men tried to substitute themselves for the true Pope, and usurp that office, so to speak. The Catholic church denies the papal authority of the men on that list because they attempted a substitute (false) claim on the Papacy. That list is a list of ANTI-POPES! So the word anti can clearly mean a substitute for something. THE WORD ANTICHRIST Antichrist (word 500 in Strong's Greek dictionary) can be correctly interpreted then, as someone who substitutes himself for Jesus Christ, the Son of God, just as an antipope substituted himself into the office of the Papacy. The Vicar of Christ (Vicarius Christi) "Vicar of Christ . . . Title used almost exclusively of the Bishop of Rome as successor of Peter and, therefore, the one in the Church who particularly takes the place of Christ; but used also of bishops in general and even of priests. First used by the Roman Synod of A.D. 495 to refer to Pope Gelasius; more commonly in Roman curial usage to refer to the Bishop of Rome during the pontificate of Pope Eugene III (1145-1153). Pope Innocent III (1198-1216) asserted explicitly that the Pope is the Vicar of Christ; further defined at the Council of Florence in the Decree for the Greeks (1439) and Vatican Council I in Pastor Aerternus (1870). The Second Vatican Council, in Lumen Gentium , n.27, calls bishops in general "vicars and legates of Christ." All bishops are vicars of Christ for their local churches in their ministerial functions as priest, prophet, and king, as the Pope is for the universal church; the title further denotes they exercise their authority in the Church not by delegation from any other person, but from Christ Himself." Source: Catholic Dictionary, Peter M.J. Stravinskas, Editor, published by Our Sunday Visitor, Inc., Huntington, 1993, pp. 484-485. THE WORDS VICARIOUS AND VICAR Now look up the word vicarious in almost any common dictionary. Here is what you would find in the Webster Handy College Dictionary: "substituting for or, feeling in place of another." Also in the Webster's II New Riverside Desk Dictionary for the definition of Vicar- 1. A parish priest in the Church of England. 2. A cleric in the Episcopal Church in charge of a chapel. 3. One who serves as a *substitute* for another. A Vicar General is defined in the 1994 Catholic Almanac on page 330 as "a priest or bishop appointed by the bishop of a diocese to serve as his deputy, with ordinary executive power, in the administration of the diocese." So a vicar serves in the place of (substituting for) the bishop, and assumes his power of office for certain duties. So the Papal title of VICAR OF CHRIST which in Latin is VICARIUS CHRISTI, means a SUBSTITUTE FOR CHRIST, which is synonymous with Antichrist, i.e., assuming the power of God on earth! This blasphemous claim is made repeatedly by various Popes and is the very foundation of Roman Catholicism and it's Papacy. Some Catholics may protest that the Pope represents, but does not substitute for Jesus Christ, to avoid the association. Now, from the Webster Hand College Dictionary, the definition of the word represent: 1. portray; depict; describe. 2. play the role of; impersonate. 3. denote; symbolize; stand for. 4. speak and act for; *be a substitute for*. 5. set forth; assert. 6. be composed of; consist in. Clearly then, Vicar of Christ (Vicarius Christi) and Antichrist have exactly the same meaning. The Pope substitutes himself in place of God on earth, and that is *exactly* the meaning of Antichrist.

Faith is the gift of God to his children. All the evidence in the world is pointless if the Lord chooses not to reveal the truth to you. Attempting to convince those who have not been chosen as members of the elect is a pointless exercise. Preach the gospel and let the Holy Spirit do the rest. To believe that any human argument can lead the non elect out of darkness is a conceit. '...you do not believe because you are not my sheep.' John 10:26

Harry, I think that's a minority position among Christians. The other way of looking at it is that God has chosen everyone, but that not everyone accepts his invitation. There are Bible verses to support both sides, though. One of many for this position: "God is patient, because he wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost" (2 Peter 3:9 CEV). The idea that God selects who will be damned and who will be blessed seems, to many Christians, contrary to the very mission statement Jesus gave his followers: "Here’s what I want you to do. Go and make believers out of people everywhere. Go to all the nations. Baptize the people, and do it on behalf of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19 Casual English Bible). There doesn't seem much reason to do that if the destiny is already determined. The position you mention puts the people who aren't among the New Chosen (or the Elect) in a hopeless position regarding repentance. They're damned if they do and they're damned if they don't. That doesn't feel like an idea that came from the Jesus many Christians have come to know in Spirit. Yet I know that many Christians follow the tradition you mention, in the theological footsteps of French theologian John Calvin. John Wesley of England is one of the fathers of the other position I mentioned.

Stephen M. Miller I think we'll have to agree to disagree. Although I think you're on shaky ground to claim that election is a minority view among Christians. It is the official doctrine of the both the Presbyterian and Anglican traditions. I am familiar with the teachings of both Wesley and Calvin. I began my Christian journey sharing your view. However the more I read Scripture the more I became convinced that without election there can be no certainty of salvation. Without election Christianity is no different from all the works based religions. I agree that your view certainly seems to make sense and tallies with our idea of what we think God should be like. But isn't it the height of human arrogance to create God in our image of what we think He should be. If God elects some to eternal life and others to damnation who are we to question Him. To address the point you raise regarding the seeming paradox between the Great Commission and Election may I recommend the works of J I Packer. God bless and keep up your excellent videos. I would love to discuss with you in depth.

Bobby Allen It is the Gospel. If faith is a result of decision on our part then where is the room for grace. A decision is a work of the flesh and therefore excludes the necessity for grace. Either we are saved by grace or we are not. If there is any element of the process that involves work on our part we are not saved by grace.

Died Friday before sundown. Decomposition begins immediately in that hot part of the world. Dead all day Saturday. Dead until near dawn on Sunday, far as we know. Granted, those are not 3 24-hour days. But they are 3 days: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We don't always speak in terms of 24-hour days. We might say we're taking 3 days off for a weekend vacation, and leave work early on Friday, spend Friday night and Saturday at a campground, and come home Sunday afternoon. We won't say we spent 1.5 days on a getaway. Give language a little elbow room.

Enjoyed your video, the points you made as well as your delivery but, I respectfully disagree with your response to Lisa Hovet below. Lisa and I must be from the lineage of "Doubting Thomas", for it was the study of science, history and the validation of prophecy that convicted me. The difficult part was discerning good science from bad. As you know, the Pharisees and Saducees corrupted the Torah. Catholicism continued the tradition with the Protestants trying their best to catch up and will, given time. To my astonishment, our sciences, which one would think would be immune from such heresy, is no different. This is why we find many anomalies that are not disclosed to the general public that "coincidentally" happen to line up perfectly with the Biblical account of creation and other nuggets of science throughout scripture. When someone is on trial for murder, it is a difficult thing to obtain a conviction when you have no body. Yet, our forensic science has made great leaps in just the past 20 years. I recommend that you take another look at the science associated with the "Shroud of Turin" as well as the "Sudarium of Oviedo" without the bias of these objects being in possession of the Catholic Church, if that is an issue of course. I am no mathematician but, I understand that the amount of circumstantial scientific evidence now proffered is of such weight that the odds of this image being anyone else in history other than the Messiah Himself is 292,000,000,000(billion) to 1. For years, courtrooms have treated DNA results as the gold standard in evidence, finding it hard to argue with odds like 1 in 100 billion. New research shows that number to be inflated but, I thought it noteworthy for a comparison. If you are interested in "some" of the latest scientific data associated with the Shroud, I would recommend watching "New Forensic Evidence For The Shroud Of Turin" for a start. I assume it is still here on You-Tube. I haven't looked in a while. Now, I do not say all this in an attempt to portray that one does not need faith to believe. In fact, I believe He requires a measure from each of us and will test those like Lisa and myself who came to believe by putting our hand in His side. This may be the reason He said, "Blessed are they that have not seen and yet have believed.” It has most certainly been a struggle. Having said all of that Stephen, it is your knowledge, your perspective, your wisdom and presentation that I severely lack and take great pleasure learning from, of which I am very grateful. Well Stephen, what did it for me was science. 1. The impossibility of three dimensional information and an event horizon in the Shroud of Turin and eucharistic miracles of catholic hosts developing into cardiac muscle. The rest comes slowly.

Hello, Lisa. To your points: I'm a fan of science, too. Don't know what 3-dimensional info is. Shroud of Turin isn't of Jesus, scientific tests have shown. I think most of us who aren't Catholic understand that the bread and juice of communion represents the broken body and the blood of Jesus...not that they actually becomes this. Not sure what you mean by "the rest comes slowly." Peace to you.

Things appear from nothing all the time in quantum mechanics. The New Testament is in conflict with the old. See Tovia Singer Christians practice Paulism. Who knows what James and the rest thought since Paul extinguished their philosophy.

I believe you are mistaken regarding quantum mechanics. Quantum mechanics teaches there is no such thing as nothing, or as an empty space and that even a vacuum contains the substance of matter, which includes particles and anti-particles.
@chriswinchell1570
@chriswinchell1570 4 жыл бұрын
@@StephenMillerTheWriter Indeed. Quantum fields exist always. That is the source of virtual particles that arise for brief periods. I meant the particles did not exist previously. The universe arose spontaneously when these fields found a new equilibrium. The haircut analogy (and others re. Natural selection) are not apt. Even if there were a God, I don’t know why this would be of comfort? I find it a horrifying thought.... and, it’s not even clear that your particular philosophy is correct. There’s lots of philosophy carved into Karnak, the KZbin of its day, that explains why Ra and the rest were the way to go. Millennia ago, would you have been a Ra-ist? I’m guessing yes. BTW, I’m not singling out you and Christianity.... all my Muslim friends hate me too... Christian ethics are admirable, I just don’t need the theology (or any other).

They think all non- believers are going to hell, except me because they’ve asked God to make an exception. Other than infidel, I wonder what they call me? "Working on their third day of decomposition? Well, that was "Jesus." The Messiah, however, said he would be in the earth three days and three nights. (And before you hand me that part of day baloney, He himself defines a day in John 11 as 12 hours, and even Common Core mathematicians can find out that that leaves 12 hours in a night.)

I don't follow your point. Are you saying if it's not 12 hours, it doesn't count as a day? If so, let it go. He rose from the dead. That's the deal. How many hours is a detail. The devil's in the details. Right?

@@GraftedOliveBranch Well how does that make sense? I have no questions or doubts about anything in the universe, especially our planet. I have a greater understanding of human nature and why ppl behave the way they do. It is not possible on a physical level to explain any of the magic in the King James bible. Let alone all the bloodthirsty action of your god, genocide, killing his own "children", condoning slavery, a man called Jesus turning into a zombie. I am contented and knowledgeable about the world, life and death in general. No doubts, no questions left to ask, no need to pretend there's magic going on in the world because there's nothing that can't be explained. The universe wasn't magicked into being by an entity that existed in the void, by pointing a finger and going "zap". Bringing into being the most vast and incredible reality that's beyond the imagination of most ppl. Sorry. I was born an atheist, just like everyone else. Until they are told otherwise they don't naturally assume all this magic is going on. Children have a free and open mind, until someone convinces them of a strange story that happened over two thousand years ago that doesn't appear in any history books of the day. Sorry to disappoint you of a reality you can never experience. I'm a humanitarian living guilt free, knowing I'm a good and loving person with no judgements of my fellow man. Knowing there is no "hell" waiting for good ppl to be tortured in for eternity. All the religions I've learned about are very cruel, and sad. Modern christianity cannot take away from the destruction and cruelty of the old testament.
